I think it's beautiful and I wish I had one.....

Where's the flask to go with that "gentleman's set?" :)

I

Isn't the fastest NAA reload... "another NAA?"

MR_22

I've thought a lot about reloading over the years as a concealed carrier. I've always had extra mags and extra rounds, just in case.

But you know, lately I've become less concerned about it. How many rounds are shot in the typical confrontation? Just ONE. Look a the George Zimmerman incident, for example. I think we get too concerned about the mass shooter and we want to have enough rounds to take down THAT guy and save other people, but honestly, the majority of self-defense uses with a firearm don't involve mass shooters--and don't involve multiple shootings.

That's not to say I'm not interested in carrying ammo for reloading, but I've come to believe it's more important to have your firearm with you and ready to go. Sure, you should also plan for the 1% or 5% or whatever the case may be where you need to reload, so yes, plan for that. But be MORE prepared for getting off that first shot when you really need it--and it may be all you need if you do it well.

TwoGunJayne

The stats that I've read say that most confrontations end with the presentation of the piece. Statisically, you could probably carry an unloaded gun or a fake.

Would I do this? NO WAY! There's always some idiot who will call a bluff.

Is your language that bad? Most folks down here are quite friendly unless you denigrate their race, religion, country, state, girlfriend, tattoos, or truck! Some folks still have a lingering sorrow about losing the civil war and it might be bad taste for a yankee to stir that discussion, but I cannot imagine you being that insensitive!

heyjoe

some of your land of cotton brethren seem to think my language would get me in trouble, however i never did. im old school, i say please, thank you, excuse me, may i, take care, etc.
the only time it was a little dicey is when i was outside atlanta and commented that the last time my ancestors had been here they were burning the place. other than that, it was smooth sailing.

Sherman's march is still a bit of a sensitive subject in certain circles, I believe. However, due to the dumbing down of our educational system, in another generation very few folks down here will even know about Sherman. Or any other person from history! When Faulkner wrote:  "The past is never dead. It's not even past." little did he dream of an age where all knowledge has to be imparted in 140 characters!

YA"LL CUM BAK NOOW,,,,,,,,, YA EAR !   Mostly in the interiors do you get indifference and thats all different languages back in the hills  strange places up there in the woods . Anybody remember the phrase " Squeal like a pig " I know Joe had that on his mind on those back country roads .  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Back when I did a lot of canoeing with my college friends, 1970s, I do not believe that there was ever a trip where that did not come up for discussion! And do not forget "Easy Rider." When I was in the Navy I think all my colleagues from the North accepted that movie as a straightforward depiction of the South. Really there is not one man in four down here that behaves like those folks!

Maccab

Here in Lancashire we were up for the rebels you know, due to the cotton in regards our mills.

So much so, it was of national concern apparently.

I think in the end though, the nation resorted to selling both sides guns.

Maccab

Our Slaves in the mills, you understand.

Dinadan

Maccab - last time you Brits came calling to my home town was in 1815. In September 1814 y'all tried to capture Fort Boyer at the mouth of Mobile Bay. Lost HMS Hermes, (22 guns), and withdrew. After General Jackson took a little trip down the mighty Mississippi to New Orleans, y'all come back again in February 1815 and took Fort Boyer. Too bad y'all had already signed the Treaty of Ghent and had to give it back.

Y'all building and crewing and outfitting the CSS Alabama for us made us forgive, but we aint forgot!!

do you also include ILLinoise ? I try to not go often since I want to not break the law, but I want to be provider/protector for my family more. I was a LITTLE nervous talking to the Sate Rod at a federal park, and was glad that I only had a Beretta 21 in my pocket, this was prior to carryiny the NAA's, which was probably a good thing since some local LEO's are able to spot them

yes, illinois, california, hawaii and even new jersey.
your local law enforcement is pretty good if they can id an NAA mini in your pocket, either that or you are wearing spandex.

we had actualy had a situation which began with me telling him that I had a pistol in each front pocket, and ended with him and another officer helping me load a pile of guns into my jeep to go sleep elsewhere for the night, after I had caalled them for a situation aqt my house. How are you able to carry where most people can't???

The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) is a United States federal law, enacted in 2004, that allows two classes of persons—the "qualified law enforcement officer" and the "qualified retired law enforcement officer"—to carry a concealed firearm in any jurisdiction in the United States, regardless of state or local laws, with certain exceptions.

The act was introduced during the 108th Congress as H.R. 218. and enacted as Public Law 108-277.[1] The law was later amended by the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act Improvements Act of 2010 (S. 1132, Public Law 111-272),[2] and Section 1099C of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 (H.R. 4310, Public Law 112-239).[3] It is primarily codified as 18 USC §§ 926B and 926C.

I

So how does that permit an unwarranted search by backscatter X-ray or other radiation legal under the constitution as far as unwarranted search?

Just blast anyone, who cares if they get cancer for repeated search! That's how the Stasi worked. I'd post a link, but you can "search engine" it.

heyjoe

i think that at the minimum anyone who has a concealed carry permit in any state should be able to conceal carry in any state, just like drivers licenses.  we all have to pass a backround check etc. regardless of state of issue.  there really is no legitimate reason for this not to be so.

HeyJoe,

You've mentioned several times in this thread of the advantage of a spare cylinder when it comes speed reload under stress. I couldn't agree more. I looked at the Sidewinder at Cabelos ... and would hate to reload one of those things in a stressful situation.

(Perhaps it was just me, but I found it difficult just to open and close the cylinder - let alone reload it. I've owned a lot of revolvers in my time and never had a problem accessing a cylinder before. Even the guy a Cabelos had a difficult time of it. I would like to think it was an issue with that particular Sidewinder somehow being overlooked by quality control before shipping. But I have to wonder about reliability).

I'm sending my BW magnum in for a second spare mag cylinder. Any thoughts on pouches or holders for carry of a loaded spare cylinder?

P.S. Hi to all! First post here. This forum has proven immensely useful to me. Thanks!

heyjoe

i would get a pocket holster with the cylinder pouch built in.

Who makes that? Got a link?
Cheers!

heyjoe

i got mine from Ron Graham before he decided it was short term more profitable to take peoples money and never send a holster. long term not so good.

i would talk to patriot joe and the absaroka kid. both are willing to customize.
send them a message by clicking on their name and then contact member.

Paddie

I'm about 3000 miles left of Brooklyn.

If I ever bother to wear a shoulder or belt rig ... it will be to strap on my Sig 40. Problem is - I hardly ever do. That's the beauty of these little little guys.

A BW mag fits so nicely in your pocket.

heyjoe

the top holster is a driving holster. good for car trips. easy to access while sitting

I

So, who has the NAA driving holster that includes a spare cylinder carrier?

cfsharry

Paddie,
Is that 3,000 miles left as you face Canada or Florida?
For full disclosure, it has been reported that Mr. Madhat also departed the premises without delivering product that was paid for.
I do know that Patriot Joe does good work at a reasonable price and appears to be, from personal experience, an above board fellow.

Paddie

Left Coast.

Thanks the Patriot Joe holster tip.
