@2Gun,
You do see my avatar yes? Well 99% of the time it has 3 Flags on the Back of it,  An American Flag on the right side rear left side looking from the front, A United States Marine Corps Flag center and a POW-MIA Flag left side rear. On the Windshield there's a large Patriot Guard Riders emblem which I proudly display everywhere I go. The only times these items come off the bike is when I wash and wax it, or its going to be parked someplace were I think they might disappear.

I just sat here reading the heading of this thread................
Of course I carry minis for self-defense.....
Why else would I carry them?
Not too many squirrels to shoot here in town. They are here but I can't shoot them.

BigBird48,
My buddy who passed away in '07 was Ira Hay's squad leader on Iwo Jima. In the posed photo after the second flag was raised,he can be seen third front the left with his Garand in the air.

Marine,Patriot Rider, more than likely NRA and VFW member. Yeah, you got it right!!!

This is off thread, but you ever notice that Veterans seem to be able to accomplish many things most other folks can't. This is not a swipe at non-vets but just my observation.

Getting back on subject, most folks don't see many NAAs being carried because that is the way they are carried....out of sight.

I always have a mini on me.

Another book to read, although it deals with the 38 snubby but has many good ideas for the minis is  The Snubby Revolver by Ed Lovette.

Mr.Lovette ( not his real name) worked for  "the company" for many years and draws on many real life experiences.

I would have just taken my knife in with me. Nobody would probably said a word. In my experience it is a charge thrown in for good measure should one start being a bad guy with the knife while in the hospital.

We do not have such laws here. Knife or gun would be ok.

ive been told that there are hospitals  in some southern cities that have metal detectors you have to go through to get in
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

TwoGunJayne

Some metal detectors are non-obvious. I'm an extremely cautious and law-abiding person. It would be a huge injustice for me to get in trouble when I'm not the problem, I take pains to find out the laws and jump through the stupid monkey hoops. The primary issue is that the ban is unconstitutional.

Knives are tools, can't ban those.
Knives are weapons? Okay, can't ban those either by the State constitution.

Can't have it both ways, besides... neither of them justify the law. Take the stupidity to the next level and you're banning rocks and plastic sporks. The reason I'm so irked about this kind of law is I'm involved with a lobbyist group that's trying to get all local, county, and state laws in line with the Constitution. "Constitutional Carry" is in the pipeline for "someday." After MS house bill 2 fixed most of CCW permit problems, we're turning to "everything else."

Yeah, I'm politically active. Anyone else meet their State representatives personally?

RogueTS1

Every monthly meeting. Sometimes more, though most times it is like talking to a wall...... a very "thick" wall if you get my meaning. I think it something they serve in the government cafeterias. Turns their once bright minds to mush.

Money, power, drugs, and corruption. It turns idealism into greed. Slowly, but surely, it saps the morals of even the best men.

...isn't that why there are supposed to be term limits in the first place? Oh wait, most government positions don't have those, nor are they even elected... just "appointed."

RogueTS1

Quick solution that would most likely solve everything. Line up all the congressmen. Then proceed to shoot every third one, head, kneecap or leg it really would not matter. Then tell them go back to work; we will have another meeting next month to check on your progress.

Bet we would see things get done then!

Bigbird48

So many things I want to say here but no time right now. But one thing you talk about laws and law abiding citizens. Last Night I wanted to go to the State Fair so I goggled the CC laws for AZ I wanted to know if I could carry at the fair. Well what I found out was if any place has it posted no guns allowed then you have to abide by those wishes and its the law. The law also says that any establishment or property that post no weapons MUST! provide a secure place to check those weapons. Now this is the law the way I read it, but do you think anyplace provides a secure place to check your weapon. No of course not so we are expected to obey the law and respect the rights of others who don't want us armed, but they have no regard for are rights to carry.
So anyway I go to the fair my mini in my pocket and at the gate heres a sign no weapons allowed. So I ask were can I check my weapon, I get this look like I'm from outer space or something. They had no clue, I don't think they even knew weapons were not allowed even tho theres this sign attached to the fence right next to the gate I'm going in. I just gave the girl my ticket and walked right in, they never even asked me if I has a gun or anything. DUHH

TwoGunJayne

It's worse than that, BB. If they say "no guns," then they are responsible for your safety if something happens. If you could have defended yourself and stopped the threat, but were prevented from doing so from a stupid sign... then the thing I hate most as an American is about to happen. Lawsuit time. So much evil and so much stupidity has been handed out by the courts.

It's a bit worse than there not being a "weapon check counter." What about the psycho waiting NEAR the counter for your pre-disarmed victims? It's like the sad, sad, old story... the criminals waiting outside of nightclubs with metal detectors. They have guns. They know you don't have one.

Unintended consequences. Some stupid high-schooler "manager" thinks it sounds like a great idea. You, as the owner of that establishment, get to foot the bill for his stupidity and ignorance of unintended consequences. "It's just a sign!?!?" Well... "Here's your sign..."

Summary: Some idiot thought it would be a GREAT idea to post a no weapons sign without the slightest clue what's going to happen next. Dead customers in the parking lot.

Again, I'm fighting this in my state with my representatives. I feel sorry for your state because it isn't mine. There is even a sign like this on my town hall. The screaming fit I have with this is that the police officers for the town walk through this door... a door with a prominent "no weapons" sign. "Do as I say, not as I do," right, sir? That leads to "thank you sir, may I have another."

As an American Patriot, this deeply offends me.

I can't think of one instance were liberal thinking hasn't been a bad thing with terrible outcomes except having liberal amounts of extra cheese on pizza or extra toppings on ice cream . Then it's only our physical health which is our choice .  :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

TwoGunJayne

Wow. That makes me want a 64 ounce "Bloomberg float." It's a great big cup of American cola or root beer with a big fat dollop of American ice cream. Have a "ny slice" on the side. By weight, a typical "NY slice" is larger than most small or medium pizzas you get from the chains.

Mmmmmm... FREEDOM! Tastes good, doesn't it?  :)

OV-1D

New York pizza is such a hard thing to come by these days , even had my own pizza place while working Grummans and I couldn't match it . Close is only good in hand grenades and horse shoes . Down here everyone THINKS they can make a good pie and the Lord knows we have one on every other corner it seems . Just noticed ...... sorry for the drift everyone .

yea its BAD! everywhere,
I'm AZ and you can cc here with out a permit but still theres stupid rules and stupid places and most of all stupid people.Yea 2 gun so back to the fair,
Like I said I walk in with my mini in my pocket. But your telling me because they have that sign, that their now responsible for my safety. Well you know thats not gonna happen, I saw maybe 6 cops in the whole fair grounds last night among thousands of people, I'm sure there were more cops but no where near enough to protect that crowd. So what happens if a bad guy comes up to me and I'm in fear for my life lets go even further and say he has a gun pointed at me OK and he says your money or your life, OK and theres people that even witness this , now lets say for what ever reasons he drops his guard for a split second and I get the drop on him I draw and wham get him right between the eyes. This guy threatened my life with a gun in front of witness's and I won, Probably not right? I broke the law when I brought my gun into the fair even tho they had no place for me to check my weapon as required by law, even tho they didn't even know I wasn't suppose to have my gun at the fair, and even tho their suppose to protect me no cop was anywhere near me to help when this all happens. RIGHT? I'm most likely going to be charged with at the least manslaughter, and probably will get convicted and sent to jail for 20 years, and all I did was protect myself from a thug. go figure huh.

Sarasota has a really good pizza parlor. guy is from brooklyn. the slices are the size they were when we were kids
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

Joe I'm beginning to believe there are no more brooklyn natives left up there , there all down here making crummy pizza , it's got to be the water , something is terribly wrong just not the same but then again it's their children taking over now maybe . Making of Pizza is an art and all I seem to have is abstract painters . I always thought a sprinkle oregano was a staple for New York pie not here maybe you get it but most of the time you don't . Just another thing the care has gone out of . And using skim milk cheese their grandmothers are rolling in their graves . OIE-VAE thats the Irish spelling . :)

Emergency room entrance, Owensboro, Kentucky. One year ago.
I failed the metal detector and had to drop my pants so they could use the portable scanner on my metal knees.
They DID let me take my little two bladed pocket knife back out to the car. Otherwise it would have went into the "bin".

Sysco and other similar food suppliers provide pizza joints with dough balls. 99% of all pies are literally made from the exact same items from the same suppliers. Shh! Trade secret! Barely anybody raises and proofs their own dough anymore.

When I had my place everything handmade even grew my own herbs . Not that my best and most customers , college kids , gave a hoot . Still mine wasn't a New York pie . I'm hungry , now I make mine at home with English muffins , those are Great . :)

The law clearly defines your stated situation as "the lesser of two evils" and hence you should not be charged. Similar to police speeding and blowing stop lights in the performance of their duties. They technically are breaking the law but for the betterment and safety of the community and hence, "the lesser of two evils."

Just a side note TGJ; William Shakespeare was never Knighted. A playwright, which his being one is still questionable, during the Renaissance period was viewed by most as a very less than respectable line of work as were actors and most other entertainers. He would never have been knighted. He does not qualify for the style of "Sir."

wow theres more discussion about Pizza then why we carry a mini, I'm switching over to the pizza forums theres some real good gun talk there.

TwoGunJayne

A mini under the pizza hat would be a good choice for a pizza delivery driver. :)

Unfortunately, when I used to do that, I didn't know about them yet. I'd have been grateful for one a couple of nights.

O.K. O.K. BigBird48  I'm sorry my fault . I've deal with guns for so many years it's almost just understood about some threads and I just get a little bored and wander off the beaten thread only for a little bit of humor I guess , most you guys are simply fun to shoot the shi* with like boone and his patties in the yard .  ;D  Now what was the subject ? I carry the Freedom Arms mag. around the house and yard and the Kimber Ultra-Lite w/laser grips everywhere else .
