BW sight picture

Can someone please post a proper sight picture (fixed sights)? The front sight is so much taller than the rear. Natural alignment (tops of front and rear level) point the barrel down. Best seems to be front way above rear. Is this how you line up your BW?

I'm used to three dot sights where you just line them up but I get the two dot systems too (Straight 8) but the BW is confusing me.

I think Mike alluded to this, saying 'just aim down the barrel'.

Thanks

I've had several Black Widow Fixed Sight guns.  They all shot their best with a traditional sight picture (  | I |  ).

I do that on the mini too, and I'm sure it would work on the BW, but the BW has "better" sights, so I was just trying to figure them out.

Probably each BW is different. Try different sight pictures with yours and see which way is best for you and your B.W.

TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Yeah, I wondered just how much variation there is. I haven't taken it to the range yet and once I do, you're right, I'll know. But I figured there was a design spec and wondered what that was, just as a starting point.

One thing that I overlooked in my post above was that I was using that traditional sight picture at 25 feet with 30 grain CCI Plus V ammo.  Range and bullet weight will effect the point of impact with any gun.

Good clarification. Yeah, that's about the set up I was thinking of.

We (well most of us) carry our minis to protect us from the bad guys. Or something like that.
When the bad guy is coming at one of us, he is not going to stop and stand still while we get our "sight picture".
Therefore I use the sights when I first start using the mini to see if it hits where it is pointed (some new ones don't even come close).
After that, when I practice, the first shot is fired when the mini is about chest high, shooting at a 9" paper plate 3-4 steps away.
When the poo comes down, you ain't going to have time to get a good straight grip and get the sights set on the target just right.
That is why I love Cvang grips. The mini comes out of my pocket with the barrel in line with my forearm every time and I have a rock solid grip on my gun.

Point shoot and be done with it. 8)

Bullet weight, velosity, type od grips, how tightly you hold the gun, range etc will all affect where the bullet goes. The gun will be recoiling before the bullet leaves the barrel.

If ya stick the barrel in the BG's ear, you shouldn't be able to see the front sight anyway..........  ;D

I always thought that the slender barrel of the standard short, lr, and mag were more of a "nose gun."

All true comments. Still..... ;)
