Thank you TwoGunJayne, Maccab and Dinadan for your information. I wasn't aware of the tapered chambers in the BP cylinders. I wanted to find out if the 2 ball load would spread at 5 to 7 yards, but if the chambers are tapered that could cause a loading problem.  Also I like the traditional round ball loads that I use in my 1858 .44 (.454) and thought the round ball would travel much faster weighing only 20 gr. with space for more powder.  Most .22's are .223  size, has anyone slugged their barrel or asked NAA what the size is? As TwoGunJayne said the .224 # 4 buckshot shaves off a ring with pure lead and that's good and the way to get better pressure for consistent speed and groups.
Cheers, BP S

MY MISTAKE; #4 BUCK IS .24 NOT .224 AS I SAID....I'M MUST BE GETTING OLD, THE FINGERS DON'T DO WHAT THE BRAIN WANTS THEM TO DO!
