Guardian 380 and Black Widow questions

Hi, this is my first post although I've been following this forum for a while. Picked up my first firearm December 2009 - a Black Widow Magnum.  This was after a TON of research into other brands, most notably Ruger.  But I fell in love with the BWM after holding it.  Followed up with a Guardian 380 a couple weeks ago and haven't shot it yet.  Here are my questions:

   - Can I shoot CCI 40gr TMJ out of the revolver?  I thought they would offer better penetration but I want to make sure there wasn't some sort of compatibility issue before I test them out.

Everything else pertains to the Guardian

   - Is it drop safe?

   - Safe to carry one in the chamber?

   - What exactly happens after the last round is spent and I pull the trigger again?  Dry fire?

   - How often should the recoil springs be replaced?

   Thanks!

Dan------refer to product testing- independent testing on NAA firearms on this web site. Scroll down to the info on the .32 Guardian. It would be the same info as the .380 would be.It should answer your questions on the Guardian.

Don't think you need to worry about the recoil spring, but you could order one from NAA just to have a spare.

Thanks, Bud.  I checked that stuff out and feel much better about carrying the fully loaded G380.

However, I'm still wondering about that last shot.  I don't necessarily keep count when I'm shooting and I'm prone to pulling the trigger one extra time to make sure it's all spent.  Maybe that's fine with a revolver but I don't think that's a good idea with this type of pistol.  Guess I'll be finding out in a couple more days!

Better to remove the mag. and pull the slide back to see if a round is in the chamber. I would not dry fire the guardian!

Also, any .22 mag. would be OK to fire in your mag. cylinder. You can also send your B.W. in to NAA and have a L.R. cylinder timed and fitted for your revolver. Then you could fire short, long, long rifle cb caps and snake shot in the L.R. cylinder.

Please check out F.A.Q. on the revolvers and pistols on this web site.

If you wish to dry fire your B.W. be sure to remove the cylinder first!

...Regarding recoil springs.. WOLFF, supplies the springs for the GUARDIAN.380..I have been advised(by WOLFF)to change them out after a few thousand rounds..I believe this to be a small price for reliability...
