Is there a listing of NAA serial numbers and dates of manufacture?

Just wondering if there's a way to date the manufacture of an NAA mini by looking up the SN.

Anybody?

Sorry, nope. Nobody has compiled that sort of information. The only way I know to get this information is directly from the factory. This question comes up fairly frequently, so perhaps it's time somebody compiled a list!

If you have the original box there may be a dated envelope with a fired cartridge case in it that will give you an idea.  Barring that you could put out your serial number with the last two digits X-ed out and a kind member with a close serial number and their envelope date could get you close.

Why do people black out/hide part of a serial number?
Just wondering.
I see some do and some don't.

One reason for the partially X-ed out  serial numbers are so an unscrupulous person can't whip up a phony bill of sale on their computer and claim that you have "their" gun that was "stolen".

A book about NAA might be interesting...history of the company, the models (date of introduction and end of production, etc) and a serial number chapter about how to date your gun by the serial number...and what do those numbers mean, anyway?

This is right up my alley! I've written five books about vintage bamboo fly rod companies. I've been sort of thinking about a new project...will see how NAA feels about being cooperative!

That's a fine idea Mike , we can call you Mike right ? NAA should have some good history to be told along with the info . 8)

Yes, it would be nice to have some info...I have a Black Widow conversion with the serial # starting with "R" and not the "BW" you would expect. I'm curious to find out what significance it might have, or was it a personal SN and someone decided they didn't want it. I bought the gun brand new from Bud's a couple years back. It piques my interest... :)

E-mail Jessica at NAA.
She can find out what you want to know.
