Nobody I've run across makes them for mini's but making them yourself isn't too much of a challenge . Just kinda copy the NAA wood grip style .

Thanks Nastruck they are fine looking , not as orange as the picture puts them but your right I'm looking for a bunch of yea's to keep them because I want to anyhow and trying to ease the mind because of the price .

Yep Goat I talked with him but I get the feeling he thinks I'm making it up for a discount on price , he wants me to send them back but like I said the only repair is to fill the area with super glue or some poly material , because you can't sand the area off or it would bypass the frame do to the angle of the original shaping , I can do that myself which I will . The bark is prefect as for bark goes so I don't want to give them up easily most of the time makers shave all the bark off almost just leaving the interior , wasn't wanting that . I have two other sets myself with nothing but perfect to say . Oh well due to popular opinion and my own I'll keep them as is . Thanks .

Didn't think the camera would take such close ups . Already started filling them , sand and fill , sand and fill slowly of course . The last pic is the left side which isn't too bad but will cover just in case .

Nice pics and I see your concern!!! I think if you stabilize with the super glue and buff them out you will never have an issue!!! It does even add a little character!!! I asked Charles to make me a set of "barked out" stags for my Ruger Vaquero 45LC 45 ACP conversion and he told me that due to the fact that he does not think he will be getting any more raw materials that he would not be able to produce the type of grigs with that much bark that he knows I like!!! He said he had lots of small pieces that he could work with for the smaller guns and would eventually run out of that!!! He says he does not know when or if he would ever get any more materials to work with!!! I would defiantly keep them and enjoy them!!! They really set the little gun off and look at home there!!!

That's why I started working on them for that reason I can't give them up . Thanks for the reinforcement .

Goatpaker, is it Sambar Stag he cannot get any more? Curious I haven't seen it on ebay like I have in the past.

Yes it is the Sambar!!! He said he had lots of small pieces for like NAA revolvers but it is just the scrapes!!! Nothing wrong with that it is that the pieces are nice but can only make the smaller grips!!! He says it has something to do with the import rules and supplies are running short!!! He does not know at this point where to get his hands on more materials in Sambar!!! The rest of his stuff is just as nice as far as quality and he does have acces to other cool natural materials like girrafe bone and mammoth ivory!!! Just Sambar is hard to come by at this point!!! I like the Sambar because of the classic western look!!! His Elk looks almost as good!!! I have bought elk from other grip artisans that are nothing more than junk so beware, every product I have bought from Charles has been top notch!!!!

Thanks for asking Goat , I need a new K key for the keyboard now . Ha . I pretty much finished and hope I got enough glue soaked down into the questionable areas as I believe . Just a sore spot for this guy now probably never order anymore from him ( after spending close to five hundred bucks in a month or so I thought I have a little respect ) , besides his pieces seem to be getting a little more oversized (sloppy fittings) for fit and what I mean is the edges are increasing in overlap and his hardware screws and fittings are too large for the pieces , myself I use smaller sets next size down , oh well they come and they go . Gotta work on my own stuff anyhow , I keep buying blanks of all sorts of new materials now I have to stop and start DOING again . Just ordered two sets of Sambar Stag blanks , very much still available , would be hard to find Sambar blanks large enough for your Ruger to make nice barked ones anyhow you might just as well settle for elk or big white tail down by the crowns would have the best texture .

Yes Joe thats how he kinda sounded when I sent him a e-mail explaining the problem . I did ask him for a 1/3 price refund and not bother to send them back in for him to correct by filling which I can do , quite well I must add and save the postage . They should have never been sent that way to begin with to see the burn area is a good tip off something isn't right I'm REAL PICKY with my stuff maybe too much , I beginning to think he has someone else (kids are like that) doing this also because of the last two sets with fits , sloppy loose fit , screw alignment way off , overhang of frame now this . Joe I kinda got that feeling today also , I was priming an entry door on houses for someone with three coats got sort of snow blind but it was in the middle 60's and real sunny . As for pictures you taught me how to get them here but you'll have to go through it with me to get them to my e-mail , you gotta remember I'm computer dumb, dumb , dumb . Thanks for asking .

A "safe way" to try email, email attachment, to see how they appear on the screen, is to send what ever you've done, size wise or attachment etc, is to send it to yourself in an email, . . . See what it looks like. Granted,people set their own screen resolution etc, but if they are fiddling about with those settings, and having issues with seeing your pics, they can adjust their screen to see it however they like. For most people, it will look just like it looks on your screen (your mileage may vary).

It's not the Twilight Zone, you can adjust your screen.

Elephant ivory coming along , almost done . Question which should I use brass hardware or stainless . Made my own escutcheon setup in brass nuts and screw seeing I couldn't find any small enough . Can't say it wasn't a pain in the butt so to say .

But then again I could have been the elephant , this stuff they cut the tusk off short and the animal lives to tell the story .
