Weight of the Guardian .32 ACP

I am thinking of purchashing a Guardian .32 ACP.  I decided on that caliber mainly because of it's advertised weight of 13.5 oz versus 18.72 oz for the .380 ACP model.

However, I ran across an article from American Rifleman that compared the Kel-tec P32 and the Guardian .32 ACP.  They list the Guardian .32 ACP as having a weight of 18.72 oz.

So I began to wonder if the older .32 ACP models were 18.72 oz and they at some point lowered the weight to 13.5 oz.  I am interested since I am thinking of buying a used Guardian from someone in another state.  I have a feeling that the article was in error.

My advice for you is to go to a gun shop and put your hands on the product(s).  You can read all the specs and features and what not, but the bottom line is, how does the gun feel in your hand, pocket or holster.

I just weighed mine. 12.85 oz no magazine, 14.10 oz empty magazine, 15.65 oz 6 rounds in magazine.

Second .32 Guardian (Melted) 13.75 oz empty magazine.

...wow.
That's as heavy as my P238.

Thanks for the good advice.  I would prefer to fire a few rounds as well if possible.  This guy told me his P32 shoots much smoother, which is the opposite of what I've heard from most others who have shot both.  He thinks he might have gotten a bad specimen.

Thanks for the weights.  Both those weights are right around the advertised weights from NAA.  I think that weight may be perfect balance for recoil and pocket carry.

It wouldn't surprise me.
Locked breech pistols are much nicer to shoot than blowback.

Shhh! Shhh! The thread drift cops might come down hard on you if you were to even come close to suggesting that the OP consider getting a Glock.

For regular, all day carry, I do not like heavy guns. One of the reasons I don't have a Guardian. For shooting, they are very nice, but I don't buy .32 ACP or .380 ACP. for a lot of shooting. Of the plastic guns, the Taurus is the easiest to shoot accurately, best trigger pull and it almost has sights. It is my personal pick of the plastic pocket guns. For me the DB guns get disqualified. The slide almost cuts my hand racking it. If I were to shoot one, I would be bleeding. The ONLY thing keeping me from having a DB 9. Maybe even a pair.

If the weight will not be a factor for you, the Guardian will very likely be the best shooter of the crowd.
Guns are a lot like parachutes:

Although the guardian 32 is a bit heavier than the modern .380's like lcp, tcp, p3at it's coinciderably smaller and is sooooooo much more comfortable for fron pocket carry and doesent print like the .380 plastic stuff.

I don't notice a Guardian .32 in a shirt pocket until it bangs against something while I'm walking around. It seems lighter there than in the pants pockets.
