Life is one big learning experince and if your learning your on the right track.

When you are shooting the Charger make sure its on a solid surface. When I shoot mine I set the butt of the grip down on something like a small sandbag or sometimes on my other hand, or both which makes it easier to hold the gun more solid when you pull the trigger. Its hard to hold it steady if the butt is being held in mid air. A small peice of carpet on a peice of wood will also work. Also you might fold the bag it came and use that.  When I pull the trigger I try to hold the gun down with a little pressure on the grip to keep the gun from jumping under recoil. If you shoot it enough you will figure out what works best for you. The trick is to put the cross hairs on target and pull the trigger without moving the gun. From what I can find out I think you have a good scope.

   Good Luck and Happy shooting.

We all started out as newb's

I have been a newb with everything I have learned in life.

Once you think you have learned every thing you need to know then you have to deal with mind clutter.

lewis128

The Conservation Dept range I use has concrete benches, so a solid shooting platform is not a problem. I lay a bath towel across the bench and seat for comfort.

My left hand serves as a make shift T&E so If I take my time lining up the cross hairs, I cut a fairly neat 2 inch hole.

Trigger control isn't a big issue for me, I still remember the dime-drills when I was in basic training many years ago.

For those not familiar, a dime-drill is when you clear your weapon, assume a prone supported shooting position. Have a buddy place a cleaning rod in the end of the barrel and balance a dime on it. Then dry-fire the weapon.

Repeat until you can dry-fire without dropping the dime.

Safety is key! Never never never attempt this without making triple sure the weapon is UNloaded.

coinchop

Lewis>

   You aren't really A newb.

   Your  scope tricked you when

   you weren't looking.

Moderndayedison

Lewis128>

   "You can adjust the scope?!?!"

   Yes, you can.

Most of your decent scopes have a Zoom

   adjustment, vertical and Horizontal crosshair

adjustment to account for windage and range

on estimated bullet drop due to gravity.

   Otherwise known as projectory.

Dummy me put a Leapold scope on my 640 fp

Daisey BB gun and sighted it in.

Now I get to watch my BB's vear off in

different directions at 80 to 100 yards.

I'm working on the whole distance and

range thing...   but being able to watch

the BB's interact with the cross winds

is a big help in gaining an understanding

how the wind and gravity effects regular

   firearms as well.

It helps one understand the coralation

   between projectile weight, rifling,and

   mussle velocity.

Just recently within the past few years

I was watching a show on the History

Channel where they were saying that

the Military recently found a way to

make a lighter weight bullet travel

farther and straighter than a traditional

   lead bullet by utilizing aerodynamics

   and reduced drag coefficients engineering

to reduce the amount of drag behind the

   projectile which reduces it's velocity

and thus slows the bullet down so it

doesn't fly as far or as accurately.

By reducing the bullet's weight and altering

it's shape they could remain accurate and

nearly a mile and a half, increasing the

range of their weapons by 40 to 50 % which

is a big advantage on the battle field.

   So they say.

Also they were tinkering with hollowing out

the back of the bullet to put most of the

weight in the nose of the bullet.

Much like the arrowhead on a arrow being the

heaviest element of an arrow and having the

greatest effect of terminal velocity guiding

the projectile to it's intended target.

   It was interesting I suppose.

But too much of that Techno Babble makes

my eyes heavy and I start to dose off.

But I find it interesting how their attention

has turned away from the gun itself and has

turned to the bullets being fired through them.

Gun History

After reading the following historical facts, read the part

   about Switzerland  twice

   A LITTLE GUN HISTORY

In 1929, the  Soviet Union established gun control..  From 1929 to 1953,

about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded

   up and exterminated.

   ------------------------------

In 1911,  Turkey  established gun control.  From 1915 to 1917, 1..5 million

Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and

   exterminated.

   ------------------------------

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total

of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were

   rounded up and exterminated.

   ------------------------------

China  established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million

political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and

   exterminated

   ------------------------------

Guatemala established gun control in 1964.  From 1964 to 1981, 100,000

Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and

   exterminated..

   ------------------------------

Uganda established gun control in 1970...  From 1971 to 1979, 300,000

Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and

   exterminated

   ------------------------------

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. >From 1975 to 1977, one million

educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and

   exterminated.

   -----------------------------

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century

because of gun control: 56 million.

   ----------------------------

You won't see this data on the  US  evening news, or hear politicians

   disseminating this information.

Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,

gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens

Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them

   of this history lesson.

   With guns, we are 'citizens.'

   Without them, we are 'subjects'.

During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade  America  because they knew

   most Americans were ARMED!

If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message

   to all of your friends.

The purpose of fighting is to win.  There is no possible victory in

defense.  The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more

important than either.  The final weapon is the brain.  All else is>supplemental.

SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN!

SWITZERLAND  'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE...

SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY

   CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!

   IT'S A NO BRAINER!

DON'T LET OUR GOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS

IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET.

I'm a firm believer of the 2nd Amendment!

   If you are too,

   please forward.

Just think how powerful our government is getting!

They think these other countries just didn't do it right.

   Learn from history.

naabug

thanks for the history lesson.remember what happend in new orleans.

zippovarga

I received that in an email and thought I would pass it along. So I can't take the credit for it other than for posting it.

Gun control means using two hands.

oldbear

AND hitting your target!!!

Moderndayedison

.

To me, gun control means hitting what

you're aiming at, regardless of what

   that may be.

An unarmed population is easier to control

and manipulate through legislation and taxes.

Build more jails and prisons than schools.

Judges, Lawyers, and Politicians fear a

free society......that is why they do

their best to keep it in turmoil.

   Divide and conquor.

   Keep organization at bay.

   Side step the labor Unions

   by sending jobs offshore.

   Spir Unemployment and create

   chaos and fear by reducing

   the middle class into poverty.

Am I the only one that sees

   a Socialistic Agenda brewing

   hear like a Tic-Tac-Toe

   pattern on our economy?

   Anti-Smoking bans

   Gun Control

   Higher Income Taxes

How come we haven't heard anything about

   Abortion or cloaning lately?

And it has been at least 10 years since

I heard anyone say that America was a

   free country.

I used to hear that at least once a day

uttered out of someone's mouth while I

   was growing up.

Now all I hear about is a bunch of old

people in Washington argueing over Medicare

   and Healthcare Reform.

How did we go from a War on Drugs

   to a War of Terror?

And why did our current president give

the Cuban Drug Lords a high speed train

   from Florida to Washington D.C.?

   I'm a little puzzled.

   Is anyone else?

   Do Congressmen, Senators, and Representatives

along with all their aids including the

administration and their staff have to

   Pee in a Cup?

If they don't, they shouldn't hold

   professional sports figures to a

   higher standard than they do

   themselves.

   I'll be quiet now.

   Just one other thing.

How did a bunch of suicidal

   religious middle-easterners

   highjack so many planes at

the same time with box cutters

that were taped to the bottom

   of the plane's seats?

Who taped the box cutters to

   the bottom of the seats?

   And why wasn't this caught?

Or better yet, why was it allowed

to happen in the first place?

I smell foul play within the FAA.

And I'm just pointing out the obvious.

   Nevermind the demolision explosives

that were used to drop other buildings

at the same time the towers collapsed.

   That looked fishy too.

Maybe I shouldn't be pointing out

the obvious, I don't need the Men

in Black showing up at my door.

A MUST READ.................

   Gotta love it....!

   A CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD

To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.

   Date: 2009-05-27, 1:43 a.m.  E.S.T..

I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives... You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.

First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason. My girlfriend had just bought me that Kimber Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?!

I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with that brown sludge in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. [That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again]..

After I called your mother or "Momma" as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 150 gallons and was extremely grateful!

I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]

I then threw your wallet into the big pink "pimp mobile" that was parked at the curb ... after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.

Later, I called a bunch of phone sex numbers from your cell phone. Ma Bell just now shut down the line, although I only used the phone for a little over a day now, so what 's going on with that? Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target..

The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).

In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime.. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life. Remember, next time you might not be so lucky.Have a good day!

   Thoughtfully yours,

   Alex

P.S. Remember this motto ... An armed society makes for a more civil society!

coinchop

Every time I need a chuckle I come back and read that again.

chopprs

That has been around for a while and every time I see it pop up somewhere it makes me chuckle too........gotta love the guy that wrote that!

coinchop

Its to bad when the people that come up with this stuff, that we never know who to give credit to. I would like to know some of them better. Some of them should get into politics.

tranquilo

Yeah, it's a tall tale but nonetheless entertaining.

riadat

This last friday my GF and I get off work in the am-- we both work 3rd.  And she is trying to get my to goto sleep but I tell her I have to wait up for the fedx guy because I ordered some bullets and they make you sign for those.

This of course really ticks her off and she is going on about how I already have tons of bullets and it's silly to stay awake just for some bullets.  And just for kicks I sort of spin her up more to get her all upset.

So I am in the front room sleeping on the couch in order to not miss the fed x guy.  The package comes and she gets up and I sneak some bullets into the package so she sees me with bullets-- but that is not what was in the package.

She is more irritated with me and tells me how silly I am to stay up and get bullets.  Bout this time she is half asleep and I spin her up some more just to get her really irritated.

Then I show her the "bullets" on one knee and I put it on her finger.  Engagement ring.

Anyways, she said yes.  This was sort of firearms related and I bet it gets me a pass to buy bullets in the future.  She went from very irritated to very very happy in a split second.

Later I was like-- geez Honey, not even I would stay awake just for bullets.

Randy

Congratulations Riadat! Wish you the best.

What in the post indicates that he is a 'he' and not also a 'she'?

guardjim

Us married guys are always happy to welcome someone new to the club. I mean, why should you be happy?!

riadat

Hmm, well I'm going to be 41 next month so there really is no point in any further freedom.  :P

Thx for the encouragment guys.  I do have a friend who says he has been married so long he no longer looks both ways when he crosses the street!

sirbarkalot

I was born married..........  got married at 18 and it will be 38 years in January.........  Too dumb to quit I guess.................

I have been married 48 years so I don't know another life. She lets me buy whatever I want and makes me breakfast every morning. What more could I want? Life is good.

I had my share of free beer when I was young and didn't mind the trade off of feeling like sh&t the next day. I did gain a little wisdom with age. Free guns would be good though. Even some free ammo would make me happy.

gooeysmoke

My new LR mini pistol isn't stabilizing bullets properly. I've tried 4 or 5 different brands of ammo, different bullet weights and velocity ranges and it keyholes 2 or three rounds out of every cylinder full no matter what brand of ammo.  22 shorts do a little better but, that is not the point.  After thorough cleaning and inspecting the bore I discovered two serious flaws...When looking down the barrel (cylinder removed) with a lighted magnifying glass I discovered 'shadow rings' at the breech end of the barrel and machining scratches on the lands of the rifling extending down the bore about 3/8ths inch. The 'rings' seem to be the result of too tight a fit when threaded into the frame but, I can't understand why the rifling lands were grond down to almost nothing...When a .22 cal. bullet is forced into the rifling from the muzzle end of the barrel it should take substantial force to make rifling marks on the bullet...with my mini-revolver it only requires mild pressure to push a bullet completely into to muzzle leaving very shallow, barely perceptable rifling marks.  In other words, the bore is 'belled out' at the muzzle and constricted at the forcing cone causing serious accuracy problems.  Very disappointed...expected much better from NAA.

coinchop

Call NAA and tell them your barrel is junk and what it doing. they will tell you how to send it in for repair. New gun like that they will pay shipping both way. They have a good warranty.

I have had a bad barrel and NAA replaced it. I have also had bad barrels on Smith & Wessons which they replaced. It can happen to any gun mnfg.

Let us know how you come out.

Gooeysmoke, welcome to the forum.  Call Naa.  Coinchop gave you good advice.  Give them a call, I can vouch for their customer service.

natchez

Hi folks. I am new to the forum and need a basic lesson here. What actually is keyholing? When I shoot my minis, I occasionally get funky shaped holes in the target; is that it? I thought that was my poor technique, flinching or some such defect on pulling the trigger, since it only happens once in a while. Any advice?
