I have seen several articles on the SW for CCW and they have all raved about the gun. My question is why wouldn't the 1 5/8 mini be a better choice for CCW?

It is the swing out cylinder part of it that makes it the go to for CCW. Of course the 2" barrel would be better for carrying. (powerwise)

The SW is simply a better made gun, I suspect you have not handled one.  And by that I don't mean the old style guns are bad, but to pull off the ejecting cylinder they had to machine it to pretty extreme tolerances.  Its Ranger class really.  Steve
