I recently acquired a Spanish Fork made .22 mag that's most likely going to need a few if not all of the internal parts replaced. Will the parts currently being produced interchange without having to make any modifications?

Welcome and of course , send in to NAA for revamp . :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Thanks for the welcome! I'd really prefer to repair it myself but Im concerned some of the parts may need a little tweaking.

Dustin.
Have you ever had one apart before?

Dustin0330

I've actually had this mini apart twice now to replace the hand and spring. The previous owner realized it was going to most likely need to be completely rebuilt he gave it to me and bought a used Beretta Jetfire. It can be quite a pain to get back together but it will save a little $ to put toward more toys.

First, WELCOME!

If you have never seen a used one when it returns from the factory, you are in for a treat. You will catch yourself looking at the serial number to be sure they did not replace it! To ship it, you will have to use either UPS or FedEx. They will typically charge $45-$60, as the only way they will ship it is overnight. And, yes, according to Federal law, you are required to inform them you are shipping a firearm. I suggest you see what your dealer will charge, as he can send it through the USPS. If you ship it, NAA will send it back to you. If your dealer ships it, they will send it back to him. If he logs it as a gunsmith service, you will not have to do any paperwork. Either way, NAA will charge about $10 for return shipping. Typically, the only parts you will get back that are original to the gun will be the frame, barrel and grips. I have had them return with new grips. They will also tumble the frame before it is re-assembled, giving it a brand new appearance! By sending it in, you do not have to concern your self with questions like:
A) Is the barrel worn?
B) Is the sear worn and getting dangerous?
C) Are there other parts I should have replaced?
By sending it in, you will have the satisfaction of having it gone over by a factory trained gunsmith, whose only concern is the gun is as close to new specs as he can make it. The cost of all of this expert attention to detail and parts? The price of shipping! Do your self a favor and send it to them. Sandy (owner of NAA) would prefer you send it in so there is no question it is repaired properly.

Will NAA honor the warranty if Im not the original owner? Paying for the ride would actually be cheaper than buying the parts not to mention the headache that comes with smithing on these things.

Call them. Customer service is good. Gotta call.

The NAA warranty is on the gun. They will take care of it. If it was less than a year old (maybe 2, I'm not sure), they would cover shipping both ways, to the original owner. You will likely talk to Jessica. She is a sweetheart, and will answer all your questions.

IF GM had the customer service NAA has, Ford would be out of business!

Ain't that the truth!  :D

I had my dealer ship my mini back to NAA today and Im very thankful that you guys convinced me to go that direction. I post some pics when it returns from the mother land. Thanks again for all the advice.

Greyelky is right on again. I had a Spanish Fork "D" serial I sent in for a broken trigger. I literally could not believe the work. The older guns have a raised rear that forms a sight area. The workman/artist lowered the new hammer profile to remove from the sight picture. He installed the shorter barrel and made a .22 LR cylinder. Send it in and be patient. You will be pleased.

Well I picked up a brand new .22 mag with an 1" 5/8 bbl from my dealer yesterday that replaced the worn out one that was sent in. I'm more than surprised to see a company with this level of customer service in todays world. Thanks again to all those that advised me to send it into the factory.
