Sidewinder hammer issues

Hey everyone. I'm new to the group but have followed for a while. I finally jumped over the edge and purchased my first NAA (Sidewinder). The gun has run with no hiccups while firing, BUT I am having issues when decocking it and lowering into the safe position. The hammer seems to always favor to the left and gets hung on the frame. The left side of the hammer has signs that it rubs while the right side does not. I was wondering if anyone else has had this same issue. I am right handed but it does the same when trying left handed so I know I'm not pushing it with my thumb while lowering. I emailed customer service last week but have not had a response. My concern is that if the hammer is decocked and hangs over a live round it could pop loose and fall onto the round. Is there enough spring tension at that distance to fire a round? I can't answer that.

Here's a pic hung up.

Jmurphy..
It needs to go back. Call them  and they will get you informed on doing that...

Jmurphy

Yeah I'm planning on calling tomorrow since I didn't get an email response. I just wanted to get the issue out there so others could check theirs. It's easy not to catch it and I'd hate for people to be walking around with a possible accidental discharge in their pocket.

Agreed send them back when any issue arises then maybe they will start putting out more scrutinised pieces instead of slamming them through . Luckily of the ones I've purchased so far everyone is fine on all aspects with the exception my sidewinder pings when I full cock it , I write it up as unique , haha . Welcome Jmur , send it back . :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Jmurphy - Welcome to the forum. I have not heard of anyone else having the hammer problem that you have. There is plenty of spring tension to fire a round from that position, so you do want to be careful.

Excellent photograph of the problem, too.

heyjoe

there was someone else who posted about a hammer rubbing and hanging up at times. i dont remember who it was offhand or what the  outcome was.
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

Just shipped the Sidewinder off for repairs. I guess I'll see in a couple weeks what the issue was.

heyjoe- I did see a post with what seemed like the same problem. Apparently the poster sent it for several issues that were repaired but they missed repairing the hammer and asked him to ship it back. He never said whether he shipped it back or not.

By the way, thanks guys for the welcomes. Glad to be here.

My Black Widow does the same thing, but to the right. It's never had a problem while firing, just when lowering the hammer manually.
