MR_22 - I will be interested to read you comments after shooting the View. I expect that .38 Special out of a 9 ounce revolver will be a special treat! I am another who is trying not to want one, but let us see some photos!

How much did pay ?

What type of holster are you using ?

Hope to get one the end of May.

Thinking of a leather cross draw type holster.

A friend on the TaurusArmed.net forum says she just bought one new at her dealer for $525. I bought a used move that a gun company in Kentucky gave away free. I bought it from the guy who own it for $440, which was $440 more than I was planning to spend, but the availability caught me off guard, so I quickly decided to get it before anybody else would. MSRP is $599.

I think that gun might require something like:

If that ammo has a pink muzzle flash, put me down for a case! :)

Actually, Bleak, that's EXACTLY what I plan to feed my view. That's what I already carry in my Taurus 856 magnesium revolver, which is not rated for +P. The smaller bullet gives less felt recoil and higher velocity, as well as lighter carry weight because of less lead. I'm perfectly comfortable using them for self defense. And I'm saving boobies, too. :) See below:

"The Critical Defense® Lite™ 38 Special load is an effective, reduced recoil option for ANY shooter looking to minimize the felt recoil of their lightweight, compact personal protection revolver.

Designed with the same proven components as our Critical Defense® line of ammunition, this offering features a 90 grain FTX® bullet with a unique PINK Flex Tip®! The pink bullet tips and pink ribbon packaging help signify our desire to share in the fight against breast cancer. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Critical Defense® Lite™ will go to help fund breast cancer research"

No pink sneakers for me. But sometimes I'll carry the Zombie-green tipped Zombie Max ammo in my Taurus 85 Zombie Slayer to offset carrying the pink tipped booby ammo. :)

Seriously, tho, I'm not trying to make light of breast cancer. My mom survived breast cancer and was left maimed from it, only for it to come back and drag her into the grave. She's been gone since 2006 and I still dreadfully miss her. I don't mind carrying this ammo in her honor.

The packaging does not matter in the least. It all pretty much looks the same upon firing and that is when it matters. If it works as designed then it gets carried.

cmon Mr. 22 i know you havent had time to shoot it but a few comparison pictures with other firearms
would be nice

Yup, it shoots like any other ammo. Nobody can see what color it is when it's in my gun or headed in their direction! :)

Well, I have not been the same since I had gall bladder surgery almost two years ago. Sometimes I have a few weeks here and there when my gut just doesn't like me very much. I still occasionally get most of the symptoms of a bad gall bladder, except the extreme chest pains. I haven't determined yet if it's my diet or just a temperamental digestion system--but either way, it sucks. Ah, the fun of getting old (and I'm not that old!).

Thanks for your concern.

TwoGunJayne

A friend of mine had that. Sorry you're not in the pink.

He said that it allowed him to eat a few things again, but took a few things away. He said he didn't care as long as he could still have queso cheese dip with red twizzlers without dying. Of course, he's pretty darned big, too.

Good luck on figuring out what the heck is bugging you. I do have a suggestion, however. It's something I picked up in survival training.

http://www.wildernessfolk.com/universaledibilitytest.php
The Universal Edibility test. You've gotta fast for a while so whatever is the problem in your system gets out. Then you slowly test in stages. It's how I discovered that I can have all the spicy food, chocolate, and coffee I want, but zero dairy and limited grape juice (argh!) It seems like you always want the things you can't have. Pizza is something I will always cherish and remember fondly.

I was extremely worried and very close to checking myself into a hospital before I tried this; this is huge for me as I avoid hospitals like the plague. (Good advice during the Middle Ages.) Eliminating dairy was darned near a 100% fix. I get the feeling that I diagnosed and fixed myself better than the local idiots with dull spoons would have.

They would have put me on a prescription, I just know it.

heyjoe

sorry to hear that Mr. 22. 2 years is way too long to not feel well so often.

MR_22

Good advice, 2GJ. And thanks, Joe.

I THINK cooked tomatoes might be getting me. The last couple of times I've had tomato sauces, it's taken me a few days to feel good again. I've been working on cutting most processed sugars, no more soda (arggh, that kills me!), and I'm trying to eat lots of natural fruits and veggies. It's a processed diet that I think is killing me.

TwoGunJayne

Could be an allergy or the acid in the tomato products. Otherwise, sounds like you need the "Paleo" diet. No processed nothing. Beef jerky and no-filler beef sticks, maybe.

Get this: You get chocolate. Not just "get chocolate," but "Here are 2 squares of dark chocolate. Eat them. This is part of today's food."

Like meat? That's what Paleo is all about. Cut the starch, the sugar, the carbs. Leafy greens and non starchy vegetables. It's what I did recovering from near hospitilization from digestive issues stemming from a milk allergy. Paleo says you get all of the butter and cheese you want.

Paleo says limit the juices, no soda and drink water. Water. And Water. You can have coffee! Put butter and salt in it. (Sounds weird, huh?)

There are several phases to it, they're not all the same. You'll slim it up and feel healthy. This sounds unbelievable, but your teeth will be cleaner. If you do it 100% right, you'll begin to see a difference in your hair and nails as they grow. No joke.

heyjoe

have you been checked for an ulcer, gallbladder problems and ulcers occuring at the same time are not uncommon.
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

No, haven't checked that. I'll go a month or two with no problems, tho, and then, wham, sick for a week. It's very erratic and seemingly at random, although I'm sure it's probably not.

I

Watch the stress-related, chances are... You won't personally see it's a factor. Humans tend to have a hard time seeing themselves.

3 sides to every story; yours, mine, and the truth.

Sorry if it makes it hard to comment.

heyjoe

he would probably comment if he could understand what you were talking about after the words stress related which is the only thing that made sense.
It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

TwoGunJayne

Humans tend to have a fragmented view, particularly when compared with the views of others in a group.

They see themselves a certain way, this is one view.

There is the part of themselves that they cannot or refuse to see.

There is the way they are percieved by others; unfortunately, this one tends to be rather messed up.

The truth might be a strange concoction of these three ways, yet they'd sound strange to someone who didn't understand the person(s) and history(s) involved.

It's a reference to the album III by Extreme. "3 sides to every story."

View? What view? I see no view! Taurus View? Oh. Sorry. Wrong thread again, I meant to post to the philosophy forum.
