Thanks no hurry just seeing if the material will work and take a gluing also either with super glue or epoxy . If it has an oily feel to it it might not hold and it has to do it even with retaining pins driven into it . Right now I'm using micarta sheet material . :)

I haven't decided if I want to print my Glock SBR conversion kit or if I want to buy one. It would be cool to print my own and register it. I could customized to exactly what I want!

The durability of the plastic is pretty good. My printer uses ABS plastic, which is pretty hard once it cools, but still a little flexible and not as brittle as some plastics. The spacers on my magazines seem to be working well. I've sold a number of them already.

As for the NAA grips--that's still in my plan. I have so many things I want to design and I need to prioritize my designs. I'll get to it.

Just to clarify; you do not have to register the SBS kit. You have to register the Glock pistol you intend to use as the SBR. Then you can do anything you want to it with as many different stocks, set ups etc you choose.

No oily feel and it should work with glues and epoxies.

If that is a question "Sure?" I am most positively sure. The gun (part with the serial number) is the SBR, not the hardware (stocks, barrels etc).

Mr.22 thanks again for all the feedback.Let us know how the grip modifications go.

Sounds like MR_22 has some very "tactical" projects in the works.

I did not add a "?". :)

Will do. I'm working on  a Beretta Cougar spacer right now. It allows use of the full sized 10- or 11-round magazines on a Cougar Mini, which uses 8-round magazines. Since the magazines are no longer made by Beretta, the spacers are almost impossible to get.

Grips to come!

Just making sure; typing on a keyboard can get the best of us sometimes. I really hate when the Feds' overly onerous regulations botch up one's gun projects.

Mr 22 if you get a chance could you take a few comparison pictures with your view and your standard size 85?

The Truth About Guns did a pretty detailed review of the View recently. The pictures included a comparison with the standard Model 85.

I had a lot of fun today shooting my PPS-43C (dang, that's a fun gun!) and my Glock 22. Great shooting session.

Then I pulled my Taurus 85 View from my pocket and shot the five rounds I've been carrying. Dang, that is NOT a fun gun to shoot. By the time I had shot my fifth round, the webbing of my thumb was in some pretty good pain.

I seriously need to make a bigger grip. But, honestly, if a life-and-death situation, I don't think I'd notice the pain of my View. But the pain makes it hard to practice. 5 rounds at a time is sufficient. I generally shoot my carry ammo out when I go shooting, then reload it back up.

Pachmayr's !!! Or wrap a Dr. Scholls foot pad around it , hahahaha . :) :) Quite honestly handgun design can't be improved upon by now they have thought of everything and anything only bigger calibers in smaller guns and we know by now it hurts just for beginners . Why keep wasting money on such nonsense now if they come up with smart bullets for the general public now were talking . All I want is a case of RPG'S (12) maybe two or a light sabra which I have the same chance of receiving otherwise I'm good with the ancient designs .  :) :) :) :) :) Oh if someone has an old Sherman parked around they are not in need of give me a PM , thanks .  :)

Tanks, you say? There is a way to get them into the US from Poland, apparently. I couldn't find the guy's epic story of how he got one for under $25k, or something like that.

It can be done. I kind of want one, myself. Perhaps something like that can be my retirement RV? I'll just need to be rich enough not to mind the 5.8 gallons per mile.

And the price of ammo has got to be high.  :o :o And where do you get reloading dies made?  ??? ???

Taurus was just bought in a hostile take over by Magtech, the ammo company, and the CEO was ousted. He was the person who first had the View made for himself, then later pushed it into developement and production. He also was on the road to improving taurus reputation and customer service. The new ceo has been part of several gun companies in the past none of which worked out that well. i think i'll wait to see how this all plays out before i take the plunge into taurus.
in the meantime im working on buying a 1952 Smith and Wesson Baby Chief.

Really? Wow. Magtech makes more money that Taurus?

heyjoe

with the price increases in ammo the last ten years maybe not that surprising.

Traditionally, those shells were cut from gunmetal bronze billet in the very not so distant past (like this week?) If your lucky, the cuttings were then industry recycled at up to 40+% of the foundry shot charge. It really paid to have that next to your machining services.

You can't really cast, weld,  or draw a case that large without some crazy auxillary things.

Anything from a 20mm to under 200mm projectiles, you think? Just gotta get through registering the DD before acceptance, I suppose.

As I understand it, Magtech purchased a majority of the stock, like 50.1% or something. So, it's not like buying the company, but rather a hostile takeover.

heyjoe

that would be a yes then Bud.
