Just wanted to ask before I bought a new pair of wooden grips for my Guardian...  Is there anything special I need to know about changing them or is it just was easy as screw out, change, screw in?

I ask because when I went to install wood grips on my Beretta Tomcat I got burned. I very tiny spring and plunger coming flying out at mach speeds as soon as you remove the left grip.

I love the Guardian and want to dress it up.

Thanks

Welcome newcomer ..........well I haven't a clue myself I don't own one but isn't it crazy how some guns have those innocent traps like that Beretta . I have a Ruger that I wanted to change grips and as soon as I pulled one side off a small pin fell out it turned out the knee bone connected to the thigh bone the thigh bones connected to the hip bone and so on , long for short I had to send it in for reassembly , ha. Somebody for sure knows the answer to your question here . Nice English Walnut grips would look superb seen some on the net I think E-Bay  , good luck . Later . :) :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Welcome to the forum edlyk.  If your Guardian is equipped the "ILS" built-in locking system, then you need to make sure the grips you are planning to buy were designed for that feature.

I have not removed the grips on ours for over a decade (wrapped in A-Grip, amazing stuff), but my recollection is that as long as you don't mess with anything, the grips are just ornamental and space-filling in function.  Judge for yourself here:

No secret tricks for swapping out Guardian grips. I've done it plenty of times and there have never been any unpleasant surprises. :)
