I compared my .22 LR 1 1/8 to my Short....

Curiously the Short has a longer barrel, you can see it extends past the cylinder pin while the LR muzzle does not.

Overall the size difference between these two is almost too minor to even count, the LR carries just as easily in a pocket as the Short but gives much more punch.

I love my Short, don't get me wrong but in my opinion it's more of just something different to carry, and basically just a "partner" for my LR version.

I plan to add the same grips to my Short that I have on my LR, these are IMO the best compromise since they allow me to actually grip the gun but don't make the profile any bigger. The slick woods on my Short look great but are useless for any real world use, they're just too slick.

Just for giggles, have you/would you measure the two barrels so we can know the difference? It just does not make sense to make a different barrel just for the short. The cylinder pin is overall shorter, but, again, it does not make sense to use a shorter knurled section.
Guns are a lot like parachutes:

I also like the rugger grips better then the rosewood stockers.  I did not think they could make such a difference but they do your right!

I notice the pins under your barrels are different lengths. That's just the depth of the indent of the anchor point under the barrel. Remove both and check OAL of the pins and look at the indents to see. My two appear the same.
