"New to me mini" with some rust

I picked up a used 22LR mini this weekend.  I've always been fascinated with these little guns for some reason so I couldn't resist the deal I was offered.  Anyway, after playing around at the range for a while I took it home to clean it and discovered some light surface rust inside the handle under the grips.

   

   I didn't mess with trying to take the springs out to clean it up yet.  Any tips?  Are there detail stipping instructions somewhere?
