Ugly but functional

Sorry for no "before" or "during" photos.  I didn't think to get out the camera until "after."

I usually carry my magnum with a boot grip, but I had an old oversized (rosewood, maybe?) grip laying around.  My uncle bought it years ago and gave it to me when he no longer had a use for it.  It was made by Eagle grips, and marked "North American Revolver" on the inside.  It was ugly as sin, scratched deeply in many places and nowhere near symmetrical (as you can see in the picture taken from the rear).  I usually put this grip on whenever I go camping or boating.  It's nice to have a grip I don't care about in such situations.

Anyway, I decided to give it a "face lift."  I filled in the scratches with epoxy, sanded the entire grip smooth and primed it.  I then gave it three coats of Rust-Oleum non-skid truck bed liner.    ;D

Needless to say, I expect that this gun will never ever EVER slip out of my hand.

You describe it VERY well!  It is kinda ugly  :o ;D ;) But I can just bet its nice feeling and very functional!!  GOOD JOB!!
