Lite Strikes on NAA Mini Revolver?

I have an NAA 22LR Mini Revolver with the 1 1/8" barrel. Some time ago I was out shooting on the desert (I live in Phoenix Arizona) and dropped it in the sand. Of course it got sand in the works and froze up. So I took it apart to clean it, and never managed to get it back together.

About a year later I sent it to NAA to have them put it back together. It, and another gun (a 22Mag / 22LR with 1 5/8" barrel) that I had sent in for work, were back in two weeks exactly. Both looked great.

Yesterday I went out to the desert again to test fire both guns. The 22Mag shot great. The 22LR was getting lite strikes one to two times per cylinder reload. The bullet would always fire on the second strike.

My question is this; has anyone else experienced lite strikes with a Mini Revolver, and if so, was it something that you could correct, such as with a good cleaning (without taking the gun apart!) or is it going to be necessary to send it back to NAA?

I did notice that the 22LR cylinder was dirty and I was having trouble seating the bullets fully into the chamber. This could have caused a very small amount of the bullet to not be fully seated, and when the hammer hit, the first strike could have just driven the bullet in fully, with the second strike having enough force to fire the primer.

I also noticed that it seemed to fire better when I pulled the trigger quick and crisp, without a slow creeping pull. But no matter how I pulled the trigger, it would still do a lite strike occasionally.

   Any ideas, experiences or suggestions?

   Thanks
