New guy here - just jailed a .22 short, which is almost impossible to get here in Commiefornia. Looking forward to shooting it the first time, it has a bit of powder residue in the barrel and cylinders, but not much, and the outside looks brand new.

Now the question: Will the laser for the .22LR fit the short? From the pictures, it looks like it would.

Thanx!

Congratulations, hope you enjoy. FYI the 22CB will work as 22short

Welcome to the forum zorba.

I

NO! The laser for the .22 LR (top strap LaserLyte sight) will NOT fit the .22 short.

You're going to to have to cut and mangle the mounting plates for this to work.

In addition, the top strap laser makes it slightly more annoying to remove and replace the cylinder.

It didn't say it would work, I bought one and tried it. It doesn't work. My attempt at cutting the mounting plates was unsatisfactory.

Welcome  , everytime I read your name I have the urge to put my hands and arms above my head and start dancing  . Your not Greek are ya .  ;)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Naw, I'm a fake Greek. My wife and I both love Greece and all things Greek - people started calling me Zorba, then I adopted it as my stage name, then started using it on the 'net.

I

It's cool. I think they let you be president like this now.

Snort! I am, however, a dancer!

To be inspired in the dance takes many forms, reaching inexorably throughout life, existence, and the universe itself.

QuoteIn Greek mythology, Terpsichore (/tərpˈsɪkəriː/; Τερψιχόρη) "delight in dancing" was one of the nine Muses and goddess of dance and chorus.[1] She lends her name to the word "terpsichorean" which means "of or relating to dance". She is usually depicted sitting down, holding a lyre, accompanying the ballerinas' choirs with her music. Her name comes from the Greek words τέρπω ("delight") and χoρός ("dance").

I went to church with my local professor of ancient language and ancient world history.

One of the things he said was that the goal of higher education is a grasp of the obvious. Further eduation from that is an extremely good grasp of the obvious.

When I sold out and moved to town I kept 10 acres of woods just in case those needed a place to dance.

Ain't seen them or their tracks yet.

I'll look a little harder.

Zorba - welcome. I have no idea about the laser question.

When I was young and not completely certain that the world was completely prosaic I often imagined meeting some being of ancient Hellas in the woods. (I spent a lot of time in the woods) Since I always had a dog pack with me I could have been just like Actaeon, I guess.

Now that I am an old man I know that the very idea of meeting a woodland nymph or satyr is nutty. But a couple of weeks ago when I was quietly paddling my kayak up a tiny creek I could not help thinking how perfect a place it would be to find the daughter of the river bathing her feet among the lilies. Sigh.

Ya know, this appeals to the romantic in me!

An update: Picked it up last weekend, gave it a quick clean and oiled it as it was so dry that the cylinder pin had problems moving! Cleaned up beautifully! Hope to take it to the range this weekend. Emailed NAA - it was made in 1992, and has the eagle head logo acid etched onto the RH side instead of the engraved text-only of current production.

Guns are a lot like parachutes:

Put 25 rds through it at the range - 20 CBs, and 5 "hi power". Not much difference in noise or recoil between the CBs and the regular .22 shorts. It takes some getting used to for sure - I managed to stay on paper, and even got down to a 9 inch group - at 9 feet!  :D It *is* a hoot to shoot, I'm looking forward to the challenge of improving my abysmal score!

Save your CB to shoot quietly from a rifle, sounds like a air gun, drops 6 inches at 25 yds, yet still penetrates 1/4 plywood, I think a head shot would kill a 200lb deer
