Break-top Warranty

While this may sound like doom and gloom, on Sandy's soapbox he indicates the new break-tops' parts except for the inter-workings are are not in standard production.  I have owned several NAA firearms including the first Guardians.  Frankly, I had a lot of problems with both the Guardians and first minis I owned.  Before I invest close to a grand into 2 of the new break tops, I am concerned with the non production parts in case of breakage. If these guns do not go into regular production and, as I shoot guns, don't put them in a drawer and collect them, what does the future hold for warranty?  Any comments with actual knowledge including NAA's on this subject?

Like so many other things, the future can only be predicted by the past. In the past, NAA has stood behind every little issue I have ever had, including several I felt strongly about me paying for, but was not allowed to. It was all covered under their warranty.

I only ordered 1 Break Top. I do not have the funds for the second one I wanted.

Well, since NAA firearms have lifetime warranties, if you need warraty work and they don't have parts, perhaps they will custom build some. The gunsmiths at NAA know what they are doing and I don't have any concerns that they'll be able to create the parts they need.

After all, take a look at the Earl. Im sure Earl at the factory had likely created a prototype on his own. One of my neighbors was a gunsmith at NAA maybe 15 years ago and he's talked about custom guns he built while there.

Also, it seems NAA still has lots of extra engraved grips for the Buntline run, which they've been selling separately. I also imagine they have extra barrels for the buntlines, in case they require work.

Whether NAA goes into full production with he breaktops or not, i think they'll be around to support them.

If the top breaks, the name should have given you a heads up, so there is no warranty on the top if it breaks.

Based on my limited experience with NAA service and others experiences I've heard about, I highly doubt there will be any issue getting repairs and or parts. I'd hope there wouldn't be issues with the break top because it's been in the pipeline a long time and this should mean the bugs have been ironed out - you never know 100% about that, but NAA is a company I would trust to see things right. They are also only about 12 miles down the road from me, which is always handy if you hit a snag.

You have to realize as well that this is not exactly new cutting edge technology.  Break-tops have been with us since the turn of the century.  To me what is interesting is that NAA is going back in time and grabbing old techhology and putting a modern spin on it.  While I think this is actually very cool and great marketing, I don't think they are sticking their necks out on wheather they can make these systems work.

As far as the warranty goes it is a good warranty. It is not really for the life of the firearm tho'. The warranty should say as long as the company is solvent. It isn't unusual to have a company go out of business and all warranties are lost. Such as the case with Freedom Arms minis. Altho' they aren't out of business, I believe you would still have a hard time getting anyone to work on one. Let's hope NAA stays solvent and healthy for a long time so our warranties are still good.
