I just bought my first NAA with boot grips and they do not completely cover the metal on the grip. I saw another 4" Earl and the grips completely covered the grip. Am I being too picky?

It's the luck of the draw with all the grips . :) Sometimes its the frames finished edge and other its the wood grip itself . With the speed of how they are pumping these things out I see more and more fitting problems with just about every aspect with these mini's . Sending them in to NAA for final fits will cost nothing but time , consider it customizing , ha .  :)  Myself I have small issues with over half my NAA's but I shoot very little ,if at all , so they can wait .  :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Dustin at NAA said I could send it back under warranty ,but I hate to have to do that. I was wondering if it would be worth trying to se if another set might fit better. Would you say these are acceptable of not. I really do not like the fit as it does not feel that good in the hand.

Being a happy camper is best and they will fit exceptionally well second time around . :)

How your grips fit is up to you not others.
Your gun has to satisfy you.
If you are not satisfied with it, send it back and they will put another set of grips on it.

Personally I would put a set of Cvang grips on it. Better control when shooting (looks better-my opinion) too.

I normally prefer a UN-fluted cylinder... but of those two pics above the FLUTED is my preference!!

VERY NICE!

Thanks again Unc_Lee you always have beautiful pictures , C-Vang grips seem to have cut way back on their selections , no more solid woods for sure just lami's and plastic , shame . You alone made me think of getting some in rosewood or walnut but when I asked it was a no go ,figured . Myself I would have reshaped them down a bit , oh well . That Earl set is the one Earl I'm saving for to complete the barrel lengths , they look so good with the traditional western style grips especially boots ....................... As for the fits all of them just about had not so on the money fits ,overhangs , undercuts , looseness . Funny Freedom Arms the grips were hard to tell where the wood started and the metal ended and visa versa that's how great a fit they made even with the plastic it was as if they made them for that particular gun , one at a time . Wish we could get those expert fits with these adds just that little bit of more class to the piece .  :)

I don't think any of Chong's grips were ever solid wood.

I think Chong's original grips were solid wood. My lace wood grips are.
Guessing Chong went to diamond wood because of problems machining solid wood.
