Another new Mini

Some time back I told one of the salesmen I deal with that anytime he ran across an NAA Mini with serial number XXXX0082, to snag it and call me. When the Sheriffs first hit the distributors, he called me, and of course, I got one for the store.

Now for the bad news: He called again yesterday (Wednesday). Seems the Sheriff in .22 mag, with serial #XXX0082 came into their warehouse. If all went as planned, it left their warehouse yesterday afternoon, and will be in my shop by Friday.

I really can't afford a new Mini right now, but how can I pass up another NAA Mini ending in 0082? I think I read it somewhere. It's a law or something, I have to buy it!

I would advise you to NOT break that law. Something very bad will happen. You do what you must.

By being a bit observant and very lucky, I now have three different NAA Talo special editions with matching serial numbers. I have no idea why this should mean something to me, but it does.

I fully understand. This will make a total of 4 with XXX82.

I'm the same way with #94 and #125. Only trouble here now is that my local FFL is incarcerated for completing a "few" "Straw Sales" that the ATF set up to entrap him. So.....Now I have to find another FFL who is ABLE to track down desired serial numbers and acquire them so I can go further in debt...lol.

Try reading John Ross's novel "Unintended Consequences" if you like getting warm fuzzies over the ATF.

Gray - if you cannot afford it right now then I guess you will have to hide

it in the back of the shop so that no one else can buy it until you can afford

it. Eventually you will get tired of sneaking into the back to fondle it, then

you will have to buy it.

Dar mentioned a book that every gun enthusiast should read, Unintended Consequences.  It's part history and part novel.  The author, John Ross, became the subject of an ATF investigation after he published the book.  It's very unlikely that this book will see another printing.  The original price on Amazon was $20.27.  Look at the prices now.  It puts the break top to shame.

Take a look; read the reviews.

Dinadan-

The trouble is, the SHOP can't afford to buy it! I am going to have to put money in the shop to be able to get it!

It is not a rare occurrence that the shop will buy something and keep it in the safe until I do get the money!

I just did a little research on the book and think I must own a copy. It definitely looks well worth the read!

Blitzkrieger,

You won't regret your purchase.  You'll learn an extraordinary amount; you won't be able to putit down.

Thank you for the heads up on the book, I didn't even know of its existence.

I'm sure if I keep my eyes peeled open I will find it at a second hand store for $5.00 LOL

Here's another author you should enjoy.  He writes of a dystopic America set a few years in the future.  He is no friend of ATF.  I've read his first three books, each at one very long sitting.

There are many reviews on Amazon.  I'm also providing a link to the author's website which has some long excerpts.  Mr. Bracken will send an autographed copy if you order it from him.

Wow. Expensive copies. I remember seeing John Ross signing copies of his book at a gun show in Vegas in about 1999. Should have bought a couple, I guess.
