I bought my first mini mag in the early 80's. have been a member of this board seems like forever. Back when CJ, old grandpa, an many others contributed. Now all this, is a ammo comparison board. It will be like losing a best friend, but so long and happy trails. May God bless all of you.

Pocketcarry - I see that you have made only 32 posts in the past two years. If you think this board needs some more interesting posts, or threads that go in a different direction, I expect that your posts would be welcome. If you are saying farewell, at least start a new thread and do not stick at the end of a weird thread like this one.

Again, I'm a new guy to these boards and have a lot to learn before I can contribute something meaningful to the boards. But when someone says they are leaving after two years because they don't like the way a board to going it makes me wonder. If you are not happy with the quality of the posts you should start some. I have found there is a fountain of knowledge here about NAA's. Sometimes all it takes is a good question asked to start an interesting conversation. Instead of throwing in the towel start an interesting thread.  :)

I have been two maybe three board shake up and have had to change my name every time. with each change the big guns have fallen off. I stuck around hoping to find something interesting. But after checking on and off for 2 years. NOTHING. We lost the best holster maker ever, lucky I bought about 10 from him. He made me one for every gun I have. Just because I don't post does not mean anything. Nothing is better than yuck. again adios.

I was just reinforcing my opinion that the Kid is the best holster maker. I believe his pocket holsters are as good if not, probably not possible, better than the Mad Hatter's but he also offers so much more in the way of other holsters and custom work.

  The KID make works of art , not just holsters . Each piece he makes is special not like so many other makers out there , the embellishment of the leather is beyond any other for commercial sales like E-bay . Special order pieces are keepsakes along with being a useful holster , none better . Thanks KID if your listening .  :) :)

I just want to add my 2 cents worth about the Absaroka Kid. His work IS art. Functional art at that. I have known a few true craftsmen in my time, but none matches the level of quality The Kid produces.

And - on top of that - he's one of the nicest folks you will ever work with! In these days of cookie-cutter products and "take-it-or-leave-it" customer service, The Kid is a bright beacon of originality and truly CARING providers.

If my goal works out, I'll have one of The Kid's rigs for every gun I own. Maybe even my Winchester '73 if he's willing and I can afford it!

  They are all beautiful Mike but that shopkeeper Ruger OUCH , it's so sweet it hurts my eye teeth , always want one but something always gets in the way . Sooner or later .  :)  I'm a sucker for birdshead grips .  :)

 ;)wow I was just bored,,,and wanted to see if you lot were real or just computer generated,,,,,this turned out to be a real nice post I started,,, don't know about the rest of you all here,,,but for myself all this stuff here is just for fun really,,,merely recreational purposes,,,i work hard on my job,,,, when I have time to mabe try and relax a little bit I thought this place here looked like a nice place to do just that,,,some here seem to think if one comes here seeking good hearted christian fellowship just to talk and play around and have fun meet new folks,,,,ect. that us new chaps must have some sort of knowledge and or  wisdom of the ages about anything and everything we say or ask about,,,,now why is that??? I don't do this for a living,,,thats what my job is for,,,this just for fun...........when newbies come onto this site(and yes iam one of them)could be they really like and are very excited about  naa firearms,,,,mabe they have only one gun,,,or 1000,,,, or mabe  none,,,,whatever the case may be,,, I think theyre just wanting some fellowship,,,and I don't really think that makes anyone weird or bad or anything,,,just human,,,,,,i would like to say to everone hello ,,,both old school and newbie,,,,if I I have offended anyone I am sorry,,,,this is just how I feel really.....no disrespect intended............

OV-1D, Thanks for the kind comments. The Ruger is actually a Vaquero model 5152, which is a SS .45acp revolver. It's a full size weapon. The Shopkeeper is quite diminuative by comparison. Here's another view of the Vacquero:

 One more thing Mike between you Dinadan ,Unc_Lee ,Rogue and a few others , sorry to forget it's too early to think , you guys have a great flair for presentation which adds so much and compliments your hardware to museum qualities , thanks for it inspires me to go do and make something AGAIN , I'm tired dang it but still thanks anyhow. :) :) :) :) :) :)

I don't think he was disgruntled.
It was a marriage break up and he lost everything. Even the will and equipment to do what he loved.
