I just added the Metal Gun cases to the website.  You can now order one.  I've added a link to the bottom of the soapbox and am adding a link here as well.  http://northamericanarms.com/accessories/accessories-all/naa-metal-locking-gun-case.html

Why can you not click on the product and order it on-line with your credit card?

You have to call to get one?

admin

Yay for Mr. Awesome Admin Man! :)

I just received the metal case in the mail - it's nice! It's pretty substantial - not wimpy at all. Has holes in the bottom so i tcan be screwed down to keep someone from walking away with it.

A bargain and a really great addition to the value of North American Arms.

I'm very pleased!

Nice. Great report. But you forgot to post pictures. ;)

Here's my new metal case with 3 LRs and a Shorty. One of the LRs is a Freedom Arms....

Beautiful set Mike they look great with that case .Have you shot your Freedom Arms piece yet if so how do you like it's handling compared to a NAA of similar length ? I love my Freedom Arm pieces as much as my NAA's , I wish Freedom Arms went a little further with their designs like NAA has it would have been interesting just what they would have come up with then . Variety is the spice of life afterall . Thanks for the pic's .  :)

Unc_Lee just how many cases would you need to replace your shoe boxes ?  :)

So which one is the Freedom Arms? Is there a difference between the three? They all look exactly alike.

Bottom right Rogue look close .  :)

Uhhhhh............. I still do not see a difference................... they all look alike. Even the Short on the lower left looks exactly the same as the engraved LR above it, the somewhat stock LR to the right of that one and the LR with the skinny barrel, huge front sight, exceptionally long grips and the extended cylinder pin.

Oops, I think my game is up......................... very nice photo and the FA in the bottom right. I could not help myself, it sticks out like a sore thumb next to the others. Thank you for trying though.

OVs, I've never had the Freedom Arms out at the range. Been wondering how it would compare. How do you think they compare for accuracy?
"The world is made for people who aren't cursed with self awareness."

OV-1D

Being these have lighter frames they do have a tendency of floating off targets but the little longer grips help to hold on . Overall not much difference . Cylinder pins are a little more of a pain making sure they are locked in . ;)

If you take it to the range that "extended" front sight should not be much of a problem for long. ;D
I once saw a gun store with several on a good sale that ALL had the front sight broken off. You may not be able to see it but the cylinder is slightly shorter as the case heads are not recessed. One very nice difference is the groove in the topstrap that provides a practical rear sight. The firing pin is not on the hammer so the hammer doesn't block the groove.
To talk of accuracy with either is kind of silly. The gun jumps so much in your hand any kind of "group" is pretty wild. The grip on the Freedom Arms is a bit larger but strangely I can't get a much better grip on it over my NAA mini.

So you're saying they are pretty much the same, right?  :-\

I had a Freedom Arms 22 blackpowder, 22 LR, and one in 22 mag.
The front sight fell off all three after very few shots.
I sent the blackpowder and the mag back in for repair and they did them quick and for free.
They both fell off again the first day I had them out.
It looked like they put them on with magic glue. I could flake it off the barrel with my thumb nail.

When I see a Freedom Arms mini with the front sight, I think " Well that one has never been shot.".

Look for the flaring on the barrel. The Freedom Arms barrel is just round. The NAA barrels have extra metal between the cylinder and the front sight. As a result, the front sight on Freedom Arms minis are not as secure as NAA and sometimes come off. The NAA's also have a more beefy cylinder pin.

I've sent back a few over the years for the blades to be reattached and the latest ones they promised me it wouldn't happen again because they are using a different method to attach them . I believe they told me they silver solder them on now , I have yet to see if it worked . ;)

Just beautiful, Carl. Nice that these cases can hold several minis, isn't it?

Actually, I would have to move the 22lr up a bit as the hasp(?) [latch] would contact it upon closing.

Yes - that's an important "safety" tip! Good news is that the guns are pretty much immobile once the latch is closed - they don't move around inside.

Boy, I need this like another hole in the head but it's so neat, I couldn't help myself and ordered one. It'll be like a mini safe for the minis inside my safe for storing my 3 minis and accessories.

Pretty cool that the new minis are now shipping with these!

gebe

Received the case today. It is a "must have" for mini fans. Even the cardboard box it came packed in is kind of cool. :)

I liked the cardboard box, too - - just didn't say so. I wonder if this is a prototype for the NAA "shoe-box"?

Ok - photos of the box the box comes in. (Does that make sense?)

OOHHHH Unc_Lee think of how many shoe boxes you can get rid of and consolidate . They look pretty stout , the cardboard box that is , I'll send you mine if I ever acquire any . Hey anyone are these metal boxes air tight ? They would make great bury cases if they are .  ;) ;)

PM, you beat me to it and nice pictures.

No, not air tight especially since there's two holes drilled in the bottom for securing it to whatever which I think is a waste of time as the box could be easily compromised as it's not constructed of really thick steel. I guess you could plug the holes up but there's no gasket in the lid.

It's a box to keep honest people honest and anyway, NAA says to keep it in a gun safe! Still, it's a cool box for mini fans and a wonderful addition that makes purchasing a new mini even better! Nice marketing NAA!
