Anyone one here who collects 25 autos that can give me a idea what a Beretta 21A 25 is worth? It is new in box, with paperwork and 2 extra magazines. I'm interested in a few small autos and this one has caught my eye. Wish now I had never sold my colt 25 years ago.

If one were to go to their LGS it would probably run somewhere in the $385 to $400 range but if one looks around long enough used can be found for much less with a little patience and persistence. The market prices are coming down and more than a few people see this small gem and think Sat night special, does not work very well (because it has never been cleaned) and they will practically give them away.

I just bought a new 35 edition of Blue Book of Gun Values (useless I think) and it has the 25 listed at $240.00 for it in 100% condition.

I've always wanted a 21a.  Original MSRP for the 21a is $410 according to Beretta.  I'd pay that and no more if I REALLY had to have it.  Given the scarcity of the gun I'd be willing to pony up just to have it, but I wouldn't be happy at that price.

They are asking $499.00 with 2 extra mags. I'm going to pass on it.  Kicking myself I sold my Colt 25 years ago. :'(

Way too much. I've had two 21A's in .22LR and I didn't much care for them. Too fat and too finicky. I'll take my Beretta 950 Minx in .22 Short over the 21A any day.

I have a couple of 21 's in 22lr. Both ammo picky, one worse than the other.  Have a couple of the 950 Minx  22 short and they don't miss a beat. Keepers..

The 950 series Minx and Jetfire pistols are much superior to the 21 series Berettas.

I USED TO CARRY the 21A 22, and think they are more accurate then I , but  am unhappy with the reliability

Thanks for the vote of confidence Bill because I love my Beretta 950 BS 25cal . Bought it for a cheap song at a pawn shop , looks brand new and shoots the same every time , great . Only trouble is the extra mags are so costly . All semi-autos have hard times with soft lead loads to begin with hangingup on feedings , easierly fixed though use plated loads for you inexperienced guys out there .

What brand rounds are you using??

You had to ask , I gotta get back to you on that . These are hollow points I have in there right now and it has Frontier 25 auto , whatever that is , stamped on the shell . :)

OV; look on EBay for mags made by Mec gar. They are as good as the factory mags and are fairly inexpensive. They make the factory mags for many manufacturers.

My 21a .22lr's run very dependably. They need a good detail strip and cleaning if bought used and the feed ramp and chambers always need a little polishing, but after that they run like champs with most any good ammo. Mine run perfectly with all CCI and Remington Goldens, almost perfect with Federal Bulk box. They do not like Winchester Bulk Box very much. The 6.35mm's run with just about anything.

Thanks Rogue I'll check them out , I need a couple at least . ;)

I got about six extra 950 mags for Christmas, all from Mec gar. Santa then finished them off with the finger extensions from Pearce made for the Tomcats. They slide right on with just a little but exacting pressure and then stay put. They slap right into the mag wells with no modification needed.

They make the pistol a whole new and better piece.

They look real good on them it didn't even cross my mind with the entensions and can't figure why not , thanks Rogue .  :)

Just a note; the extensions have to be for the .32 Tomcats to fit properly.

I've had the minx, sexy 2 had feeding problems.
I've had 4 21A's, feeding problems, also.
They are both accurate paper weights.

Hardtack it's gotta be the clip and how it holds the 22 round with the angle of approach of the bullet , it seems to have too much movement up and down in the clip . I've some guys bent the top of the feed both lips  , just the leading edge , a bit to cut down on the movement of the bullet . Seemed to work better .  ;)

I've had a 21a in .22lr since the early 90's. At the time I paid $189 (I just checked the box)

Gun has worked fine. Tilt barrel is quite unique compared to most common designs. I like the double-single action also. It is clunky on width as mentioned previously.  Beretta also had a .380 in the tilt barrel design years ago, I think it was called cheetah.

The only problem I've had was feeding problems and that was due to spare mags being carried in pocket and picking up pocket lint and dirt.
Once I cleaned mags problem went away.
I now keep spare mag in small zip-loc.

The Failure to feed was one out of 2-3 magazines, but it caused a confidence problem. I have not had a failure to fire with a NAA, and know if I do that I can cock and fire four more times. The NAA with holster grip is MUCH faster from thought to fire. Thanks for te information tough.
