Question on Sheriff/Earl front sight

can anyone advise if they have had the front sight off of an Earl or Sheriff; or if they have seen if that front sight is threaded in or how it is attached?  The break down in the manual does not show it as a separate part from the barrel.

   

   Any information is welcome.
