As soon as I get my pair of 4" Sidewinders I will start whining for a pair of 32 acp anythings.
I think the .32 acp cartridge is so cute.

I have to plant something negative about a 32 acp mini so I won't want a pair so much.

Ok Uncle Lee, I know that The Kid is most likely already hard at work making the fine 4" Sidewinder Holsters for your new soon to be born twins.  So please prepare to take us some first born photos around that stunning girth so we all can see just how cute you look carrying them.

Don't let us down...we are counting on you.  We need these images to hold in our hearts as part of your family.

HeyJoe - I have thought that the forum was getting a bit moribund lately. I have racked my brain trying to think of some new topics to stir up some conversation but no ideas occurred to me. Hopefully the furor over the new Sidewinders will inject some energy. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those babies!

bbgun

Uncle Lee,  Two years ago I had a firearms factory convert my mini 22 mag into a 32acp with the following results:      Kick was brutal.  Frame will loosen up and start to fail after 300 to 400 shots.  Accuracy is horrible.  I got 12 to 15 inch spreads at 10 feet benchrested.  Rapid fire -- 4 shots in quick succession, made the gun too hot to put in my pocket for several minutes.  I realize you know this is all bs but want one anyway :)  Me too.

Uncle_Lee

I'll post pictures when(if, heck anything can happen) I get mine but I think others will have theirs before me.
My dealer moves awful slow when it comes to ordering something special.
He lets me use his FFL to buy what ever I can with it but distributers won't even return my e-mails.

Hey bbgun,  I wouldn't worry about them getting hot, kicking, falling apart, or not being accurate.
I wouldn't shoot them.
I would just rub, look, and take pictures of them.

4" sidewinders are nice, but we need something new here....its been two years....stay on the cutting edge. the gun boom is over(for now)

bbgun,
Would like to see pics of that conversion.  Must have been quite a job and a wee bit costly.  New cylinder, new barrel, converting rimfire to center fire; big project.  What firearm factory did you use?

bbgun

uncle lee,  I don't like to have them locked up in a safe.  They might rot away.  I like to just take them out and shoot them.  Some guys were horrified when I took my consecutive numbered EB BTs and sidewinders and blasted away.   Three of the four failed to work.  Glad I didn't have to use them for self defense.  Of course, NAA fixed them and sent them back immediately.

For sure you gotta know if they shoot but I'd buy a later model to shoot those EB's in a few years , especially when the economy comes back , are going to be worth twice their weight in gold , at least those Rangers will . Of course any EB full production model isn't anything real special except for a unique buyers market . Would you keep shooting it lets say the going price for a unused Ranger was 6-7 + even , grand ? I bet not . Stranger things have happened in the past on other guns concerning their values . Always need at least two of everything like Unc_Lee having one for keepers other for big cash later on . Example , not in our time but , that first U.S. one cent piece went for 3+ mil at auction , wish I had a few of those handed down . ;D

OV-1D,   You are exactly right about that shoot one and preserve the other.  That is the best way  to  do it, if you have any sense at all.  I must have a screw loose somewhere.

bbgun,
How about them pictures.

boone123

Me to!   There can't be much metal on the front of the frame to hold the barrel by the time the frame is bored out and  threaded.
I want  to see how the cylinder is now held in, as the barrel is now taking up the space where the old cylinder pin was. Interesting..

bbgun

sharry,    No pictures are available.  They went up in the blast of "Ol' 32"  Too much blast; too little gun :(  The firearms compamy was the former BoomBoom gunsmiths.

Something new? How bout we bring back something old - looks like this was available in .25 and .32 if I'm reading the numbers right....

Found this little tidbit on Wikipedia

QuoteThe Henrion, Dassy & Heuschen double-barrel revolver was a type of revolver with two stacked barrels and two concentric sets of chambers, each serving its own barrel. They were fired by a single hammer which had two firing pins. The chambers were staggered, such that the gun fired only round at a time. These revolvers were based on a 1910 patented held by the Belgian firm of Henrion, Dassy & Heuschen (HDH), and were made in various calibers.
The 6.35 mm and 6.5 Velodog varieties had 20 chambers, while the 7.65 mm variant had 16 chambers. For reloading they broke open along a hinge on the top-rear of the frame, like the Spirlet revolver.[1]
They were manufactured from 1911 to 1928 and were marketed under a variety of names that were supposed to denote power and masculinity. Names such as "Wild West", "Terrible", "Redoubtable", or even "Machine-gun HDH" were used for promotional purposes.
The arrangement itself was not new, having been tried in the Lefaucheux 20-round double-barreled, pinfire revolver of 1862

Unk,    If I  converted  them, they'd really be converted -- into very small pieces of junk.  What I really want is a
three-shot .32 acp.  That size would be strong enough for the extra power and still be small enough for a pocket pistol.  In a self-defense situation with our minis we would probably only get off one or two shots off and then be either running or punching.

Now I just GOTTA KNOW what the heck is this fascination with this dang wimpy 32 acp . Does this caliber explode on contact ,is it loaded with deadly poison , is it nuclear tipped WHAT IS IT DANG IT ?????   Insane inquiring minds need to know , I just don't get it . Besides it's probably going to be the next discontinued caliber lets be honest . ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

Probably the same thing as what is with the .25 acp/6.35mm. It is smaller so goes better in one's pocket but still packs enough punch to ruin a bad guys day.

Almost all you guys are right.  The 32 acp is pretty punky,  It's just that some of us have too much money and just want to spend it on something to hug.

because they are designed for semi autos and the longer the round the more potential for problems feeding and ejecting
