Ported model question

I noticed that when I shoot a bunch of .22 long rifles that the port holes start to plug up with lead. Are the ported models intended to be used more with magnums?

It's not the LR part that is the problem, it's the lead. Use copper plated bullets and the problem should go away.

I think that most were copper plated Remington but maybe some lead got in the mix, I'll have to make sure I use plated next time. Thanks.
