Continued from previous post of Jan. 5.

Here are my latest belt holsters for revolvers from the Pug to 1-5/8" barrel models (5 1/8" overall)
Thanks to OV-1D posting pictures of an older Freedom Arms holster, I was able to build these.
The brown one is 3 3/4" wide by 6" long and the wet formed shell is stitched to back.
The black one is 4 1/4" wide by 6" long and I used double cap rivets to attach shell. Guns pictured are Pug and Sidewinder.
If you're wondering, the back side of the male brass snap is covered so it can't contact the gun.

Very nice repro you have there Pugmeister very nice indeed . Like to see the backside and one in brown also , brass rivets on the brown ?This is probably the best way to carry besides open carry of course . Extra quick to retrieve the gun in these possibly quicker than from the pocket even . Love mine .   ;)

Thanks OV-1D,

Here is a pic of the backside of the brown one. The black riveted one is the same as far as belt attachment. With my earlier pouches I made a belt flap that snaps at the bottom, so holster can be attached or detached without loosing belt but this newer one I haven't done that yet.
It would add a little more bulk and also the backs of the snaps have to be covered over also so they don't contact gun, but not a big deal either way.
Before I stitch I cut a groove in the leather so that stitching is at or below surface to help with abrasion over time and also I glue before any stitching. I have also smeared shoe goo into the bottom cup of the shell on both to help fight any possible future abrasion from sharp edges, you can also see it in the first pic behind the grip of the SW, smeared over the thread for the belt attachment even though the thread is at or below surface.
I think they turned out pretty well and should last a long, long time.

Thanks for looking!

I like what you have done with this holster but I have contacted Mike Barranti of Barranti Holsters who has made a few custom holsters for me in the past.  I have asked him to make up a holster that can be both belt or pocket carried with the following characteristics.  I wanted him to add the capability of having 10 bullet loops, 5 for .22 LR and 5 for .22 Mag rounds.  IN addition to that I want to have as part of the mount, a flip top pouch to carry the conversion cylinder with the cylinder loades with back up rounds.  That way, I will always have a total of 20 rounds in the carrying holster in a compact concealable or open carry solution.

Does any one else have these needs?  If so has any one else tried to design or build such a holster?

Mike Barranti does outstanding work with fabulous leather.  If enough of us contact him, he might help us out with a design and work with North American Arms to provide them as part of their offering.

I have three of the Magnum converter models and use them all differently but really love these little stingers.

Thanks for the comments.    Nice holsters Plinker!
I tried to come up with a way to carry extra rounds on this holster but decided not to complicate the design for now.
I also didn't want to giveaway that it is for sure, a holster by adding loops to the outside.
I also wanted to keep the holsters fully ambidextrous.
(I bought an MTM .22 ammo wallet and also a Zeikos memory card wallet to carry extra rounds. The MTM is kind of bulky at 3-1/2"
by 5". I wish they made one half that size)

The holsters will fit revolvers from app. 4 1/2" to 5 1/8" with standard grips.
(The Pug is 4-9/16" and the Sidewinder is 5")
I plan on putting a couple on ebay soon.

Here are pics of the latest two.
Thanks,
JEFF

Sorry to resurrect this thread but a few of you have expressed interest in my holsters so I thought I'd let you know the first one is on ebay.

We'll see how it goes.
I just finished a fifth one, two-tone, stitched brown and black. (Man, that stitching is a pain.)

I really need to get back to my flintknapping though.
I've got to get some antler handle knives done for a small show I've committed to the end of April.
--Never enough time.--

Thanks to all for the comments and input!
