I am jealous at your guys' collection. I am impressed. I have a bad feeling I may end up like you guys with these minis. I find that they are the guns I am looking at more often than not. Though I think my collection will just be my Black widow now, a pug, a blued mini, and the sidewinder (maybe after i check it out), hopefully I will be done by then...I say that now...

I am thinking of double casing my Earls in the French style. The case I built for my first Earl no longer fits the gun because of the longer grips I have made. Wheels are turning!!! probably not for the best. I am wondering if I need counciling.

Happy Birthday To Me! I recently got a Shorty to go along with my BW (making me an official NAA-aholic?) pictured with some of my other tiny toys. I made some hippo ivory grips and did a little scrim also, but my cheapo camera can't shoot close enough for detail.

Hey guys what are those blocks of wood you got in some of your pictures? Do they just hold spare cylinders and keep bullets handy, sort of like an organizer?

Mine is a bullet block which holds 22 shells in a mahogany case.

Thanks 22man. I had made some hippo grips for my Cobray .45/410 derringer years ago and thought ivory would be nice on the shorty too. I didn't do too well on the edge fit, but I still have some ivory and can do another set. They are a bit wider than the rosewood grips, and with the carved ridges (not visible in the photo)I'm able to get a little better purchase when shooting.

I'm not in the "grip business", but I'm enjoying making some cool stuff for my new shorty. Here's a grip I'm working on: A wood grip made from pieces of a 19th century gallows trap door! How cool would that be! The story behind the wood is too unbelievable, so I'll not risk being branded a liar. Once I can post pics maybe I'll post in the Stories section.

side note/drift~~~~I think on average Hippos kill more people in Africa each year than any other animal,,,,,,mean creatures.....gun grips is a fitting use for their teeth.

Absolutely correct Iko! The First Ranger holster made (which I kept quiet until this very post)The BW IWB Monogrammed holster and our own MrMadHat also made the ivory grips and scrimshawed my initials into the left grip. A man of many talents!

I'll ease the nausea a little. I graciously gave my polished 4 inch Earl to my Brother from another Mother and traded off my Pug. What for is of no consequence. A deal I couldn't pass up came up, so it was a sacrifice to a greater cause. So I'm down to just 11 Minis. Does that help any Bfly?
