Do you de-horn your minis?

A major appeal of the NAA minis is they look sharp.  NAA revolvers are visual works of art and works of art in other ways as well.  They look sharp and they are sharp too.

I have been working at un-sharpening my Short for a while now.  The goal is to change the superb visual appeal as little as possible.  So, I work slowly and very carefully, with a sharpening stone and a crock stick.  This is an ongoing labor of love, it is very enjoyable and yields immediate, tangible, positive results.

The crock stick has one end in a hemisphere shape, it is good for freshing the crown and the long cylinder of the CS is useful for the cylinder flutes.  Good light and magnifying lenses are a must.  Easy does it.

Do you de-horn / un-sharpen your minis?  If so, how do you do it and how much results do you seek?

A mini in the hand puts a smile on the face.  A mini in the imagination puts a smile on the thoughts.

I did my lr mainly because its on a skeleton belt buckle and its less likely to snag on things if its rounded. I also filed down the hammer a bit because I didn't like it poking me in the belly when I crouched.

The un-sharpening I have done would not show up in normal pictures.  The object was not to change the beauty of the mini Short but to make it feel less sharp and perhaps to reduce effect on the pockets.  Besides I'm too lazy to take pics and post them.

This thread, http://www.naaminis.com/discus/messages/670/25097.html , has a link to pics of a blending/melting job on a mini.  Mine is not "melted". It is far less than that and far less visable.

It is fun to continue work on the Short but fooling with guns is always a joy.
