Yeah, everyone has been watching this play out for the past two weeks.
I find the price unbelievable as I will soon be listing a S&W model 1, 1st issue in excellent working condition and will be lucky to get $1,500 for it.  A historically important and significant gun and it is valued less than a Ranger.  Crazy world.

Yes crazzy world indeed. Congrats to the winer.

WOW , all I can say is it's surely one of five hundred ofa kind . It really is a must to have if you love 22 mini's and also congrats to the new owner may he (she) fondle the heck out of it.  ;) ;)

If you mean the seller when you say "winner".

I sold mine several years ago for about $1500, haven't really missed it, because of the other guns I bought with the proceeds. I must get round to getting a sidewinder one of these days, as this will do just as good as a small SD weapon. The problem I found with the Ranger was that once the prices went sky high, I felt like I couldn't fire or carry it anymore. If you are a collector then $2k for such a rare gun is probably still a reasonable buy. I own my guns to carry and shoot so to me it didn't make sense to keep it. I still have to remind myself my S&W 29 44 mag was bought with just some of the proceeds of that little revolver. My only regret?  - I didn't buy two on the early bird.

If i had that kind of scratch, I'd buy it and shoot the heck out of it.  Probably wouldn't see the inside of my safe ever.

This second one on GunBroker just went for $2500.00 , now that's a record for NOW .

My wife and I have four Rangers.  The two with regular serial numbers we shoot.  The two engraved ones with special serial numbers are the non-shooting collectors.  Lot of fun!!

Sirbarkalot's (Barky) went for $3025.00 + 25 shipping on 2/16/12.

I believe that was the peak in price to date.  Thought the price would settle to the $900 range by now.  Was wrong about that.  Any thoughts on what a properly used Ranger might bring?
