The target production MSRP for the Ranger was $399.

Presumably, the target MSRP for the SideWinder would then be $349 or less to qualify as "less than the Ranger". Also, that would be for a single caliber initial offering.

What I read about the demise of the Ranger, the critical financial barrier had to do with work done by outside vendors. Rifling a screw-in barrel (common on most swing-out cylinder revolvers) is probably less costly than rifling a barrel integral with a casting, as with the Ranger

Hand fitting is part of every fine revolver... cost is roughly proportional to the number of parts involved. NAA designs adhere remarkably to the KISS principal.

H&R and High Standard both proved a US made swing-out cylinder revolver could be made on-the-cheap compared to S&W and Colt.

Your price point is interesting. I had not thought of it that way. One thing is for sure...we will see!

I will have to do some thinking if the only difference is that the cylinder swings out.

I think it should have an ejector.

If it doesn't, you will have to carry something to poke the empties out with after shooting.

At least now you have the cylinder pin to poke with.

With an ejector, I could see going up around 325 or so.

Without one, drop it down to 250 or maybe I don't even want a pair.

you would use the cylinder pin to poke out the empties Lee.  Maybe it will have a spring loaded extractor as they had experience fitting it with the Ranger.  I was just thinking of a way to keep costs down so it will actually SELL.  A 450 dollar mini that is just like the 200 dollar mini other than a swing out cylinder and extractor is not going to be a big seller in MY OPINION.  I know I would not buy one.  I would buy another Bearcat in stainless for the money.

I passed up an older model blued Bearcat at a gun show that looked new for $250.00. I am still mad at myself for not buying it.

CavScout

I passed up on a brand new Bearcat for $34.50 at a Sporting goods store... but I was young and not yet well educated. ;o) I was earning $1.00 an hour doing manual labor at the time.
