Hello everyone, new member here with a few questions. I'm looking to buy me a mini but can't decide between the wasp with 1 5/8 inch barrel or the standard mag with 1 5/8 inch barrel. Can someone who owns both provide me with some info on the differences in using the two different sights?

First, WELCOME to the forum! When decisions are difficult to come by, just buy both. Then you can do your own experiments and know what actually works best! (Not that I could ever be wrong.....;))

I prefer the Wasp sight. When I use a standard mini sight, I ignore it and simply look across the top of the frame and down the barrel. The bead sight on the Wasp makes that much easier.

I agree with Grayelky about these sights . Using the mini for what it was intended for the sights are of little use . If shooting longer distances than , lets say , twenty feet the larger sights might be more useful . Cheaper the cost the better with mini's .  :o ;)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Thanks for the welcome. I find these little minis to be fascinating, I feel this could become an addiction lol. So many choices, I kind of figured the blade front sight might interfere with the sight picture. I can get a wasp w/ conversion at lgs for 255. Does that sound like a fair price?

Are you sure that price is for the wasp? That is a great price: $20 less than Bud's and a chance to support your LGS. I considered a wasp but I was concerned about a report here that the hammer was fragile. Maybe not a big deal though because it didn't happen often, as I recall.

The "forecast" problems with the Wasp hammer never did seem to meet expectations. There were several heated "discussions" about how it would be unreliable due to the lighter weight. Another prediction that never came to be. I am sure that was no surprise to Sandy and Company. There were only 2, maybe 3 reports here on the forum, and the first such report came from my shop. I was confident the gun's owner was lying about how it broke, but customer service being what it is, the gun was repaired at no cost, and done so quickly. I carry a Wasp everyday, and do not give it a thought as to maybe breaking.

Well if worst comes to worst could always out a solid hammer on it
