PUG barrel cleaning

I'm having trouble finding a good bore brush for this gun.   OK...it needs to be short enough so that it passes completely through the short barrel to reverse direction.  So, I bought an OTIS .204 thru .222 limited breech brush and found that it has 5-40 threads rather than the std 8-32 threads.   
I can't find either a 5-40 cleaning rod or an adapter.  I'd rather just get a brush that works well...   Suggestions please.  Not a kit....I already have too many cleaning supplies.  I know this isn't rocket science but I'm tired or shopping.

 A nice sharp pair of wire cutters would do the job .
