TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

I can trade you a few plastics for some metals, if that would make you feel better.

It was really just my way of saying that I got my first mini in a metal box.
I (deep down inside) like them.

I dunno...  The lock box ($20 value in my mind) was a selling point that helped me decide to buy the weapon.  Of course mine was inexplicably priced at $150, and since then Cabela's has put a new one in the display case for more like $230.  But the lock box was a factor.

Actually I'm annoyed that it doesn't fit in my backpack for family road trips with overnight hotel stays.  (I have small children to keep safe.)  They ought to offer for sale a similar box about a third the size with a tether cable.  Just barely big enough for the revolver, an empty cylinder, and maybe a small strip of cartridges.  Perfect for air travel with checked bags too...

What I'm gonna do with the box: get some braided steel cable and mount it under the drivers seat in the car.  It'll be out of sight from the outside.  Wouldn't trust it for long term secure storage out there, but it'll do for parking my pistol when I have to go into certain "gun free" places for a couple hours.   :o

Pants on guns on, ALWAYS. except for metal detectors

My only problem with the metal boxes is that I don't need them. I don't store guns in their original boxes most of the time. And - with the NAA metal boxes - you could actually store at least two per box - maybe more. Don't know what I'll do with the extras that will inevitably come along.

Well yes, that is indeed the plan.  Except some of those places are a matter of law and not screwball corporate policies.  I walk those kids home from a public school and sometimes my presence is required inside the building...

Also while my pants are off when sleeping, I don't want the little ones finding weapons (I also carry a kel-tec .32) and making them go bang.  If someone's beating on the door I can unlock the box.  But I gotta sleep sometime.

NAA: good job getting on top of the safety situation.  Call it a trigger lock that actually works.

uncle_lee: congrats on the new mini!  How exciting.  What model?  Yeah, I got the joke. 8)

Grayelky, I would normally be willing to trade - but it's my only "Newbury Park" mini...so I think I'll keep it.

Thanks for the concern....it's scratched pretty much all over.

Two things (of many) that I've never had: 1) extra money; 2) extra guns.
They just don't exist.
