Our present plan/goal is that we'll have every component in a production condition next month and begin manufacture in earnest in January; pieces should be in stores in February.  I believe that this schedule is attainable BUT I am painfully aware that "stuff" may yet still happen.

I anticipate we'll extend an Early Bird offer for this piece. We'll keep you posted as this project "matures".

When did Sandy say the new BT will be out - next year, maybe Spring? Go ahead and get the 2 1/2" SW combo. You 'll have time to save up for the the BT....

I have the money.
I just don't want my ears chewed on.
But then they are already ragged.
Have to think a little more on that.

You know, $500.00 for one of these little minis is just about the tipping point.
I started to stall on the $508.00 on the 2.5" Sidewinder but I already have the set started and those are the only 2 left to complete it.
I hope the Ranger II isn't too high. I might choke on the price of two.
But then again if the price is too high then production will stop and the price will go up........ 8)

I agree $500 even 4 is pretty high for a mini. I always wanted a Bond Derringer but I couldn't get past the price. I know their a great gun  but their getting full size prices for those.I picked up a new Ruger 9 mil semi for less then that.

Uncle_Lee

Size doesn't determine price.
The Corvette costs more than the Impala..... ;D

I want minis. I don't want "full sized" guns. I have 2 Stars and that is all I need.

Thanks for posting the price, Uncle Lee. $500 is close to the tipping point for me, also. It is a price that sure makes it easier to decide to wait a bit, anyway.

Bigbird48

Yes Uncle Lee I want mini's too, but I don't want them to get ridiculous in price. I know they have to make a profit but I hope they keep it sensible ;D

Unfortunately the Sidewinder is in the same category. I would like to have either, but have 6 NAA's of varying sizes & carry two at all times in my front pockets. I believe the variety I have will accomplish whatever task is needed 8). Except reload quickly :'(, but the Glock can do that, without any additional cost.
Fighting the urge to rebuy guns that I sold post surgery, still buying silver, though :) And, I still have my cowboys.

Kevin; Who did the scratch on the Ruger 45's for you ?

45flint

The speculation on price is interesting.  Wonder what the tipping point is on the new Breaktop.  If the 2.5 inch Sidewinder is already $500. You got to think the Breaktop will be north of that.  The conversion cylinder for the BT may be less expensive than the Sidewinder because you won't need a connection arm?  Could be really telling.  Can't imagine they would bring it back at a point they think would not sell

RogueTS1

Kentucky Kevin; how do you fit that mini with the scope in your front pocket?

That video gives us a good look at the release mechanism on the new Ranger. It is much nicer that what the photo made it look like. I will have to get one of these when they come out.

If the price is anywhere near that much I won't have to be concerned if they come out with a Kalifornia compliant one. With oversized grips they should be able to make the 7 1/2" length with a 3 1/2" barrel.

Harkamsu - thank you for posting the link to the video. It does give some better angles on the mini.

Remember we are seeing a prototype - I'm thinking that the actual final product will be much more polished in appearance. It looks better now that we can see the sturdy build of the latch. Not bad at all! Still eager to hear more - -  like MSRP. Gotta save some Santa money to buy myself a Christmas Ranger!

ephraim

Notice the latch ! Look familiar?  "All things old are new again"
The new Ranger latch looks more secure than the orginal version. Plus it should be much easier to open . Now if NAA dresses it up a little. Maybe with kurling & contouring.
I got one of the original rangers EB and plan to get one of the new EB. Also have an EB Sidewinder. I still think the Sidewinder  is the best mini revolver that NAA has made. IMO with the Sidewinder & Ranger II the others are pretty much obselete except for collecting or as toys.

PaducahMichael

Very interesting! I have a Schofield (Uberti) and if the Ranger latch is similar, it's going to be wonderful! It will be easy to operate and looks good too.

I'm still excited.

ephraim

Agreed ! I think it would like great blued. That would set it apart from the original

Zekepup

So how will we be notified when we can order an EB Ranger ?

ephraim

Just check Sandy's soapbox on the 1st of each month and also check postings on the forum often. NAA will give you the date the EB will be available and you call in with your CC.

With the high quality of the bluing on the NAAs this would be a really beautiful piece - especially with ivory or pearl grips!

Want to increase the chance of a blued Break Top? Order a blued mini! As long as we are wishing to change something that is not even in production, let's not forget about the CCH minis. A CCH Break Top would be great, too!

Perhaps you are right. Getting ahead of ourselves. Blued or CCH would be good, or  settle for the stainless and be happy works for me. Afraid I can't increase the chances by buying another blued mini. The new BT will about do it for the play budget for this year ! Good reasoning though. I have already ordered a new set of grips for it.

ephraim

Sorry Grayelky, I got my reply mixed up with your quote. Now how did that happen?

The wife and I bid lots of moola on four original Rangers, two of which are engraved with special serial numbers.  Does the new Ranger II mean that my investment  just went kablooey?  Good Lord!!

When you buy something looking for a bigger sucker you always have to hope you aren't at the end of the line.

The original Rangers will always be a highly sought collectible among NAA fans. I do think that the re-introduction of the Ranger II will hurt the value of the originals to some degree. It is my opinion - and JUST an opinion - that the prices have probably topped out for the originals and may come down a little as the Ranger II becomes available. Hope you didn't spend the mortgage money.

I believe we will see a significant drop in the original Ranger prices.

I have never understood why the original Ranger reached the prices they were bringing at their peak. True. they were limited in number and unique, but then so are many other guns they were made in even smaller numbers and never commanded those prices. I did think they would go to around $1,000. and peak out. I was wrong, but than I have been wrong about many things. IMO $1,000. or a little less is where they will settle at.
