Back at the range playing with my son's chronograph again. 
I had my 1 5/8" Mini, 3" Earl, 3" Ruger Shopkeeper, Henry AR7.  Ammo was Federal 40 gr. lead.  CCI Mini-Mag 40 gr. copper plated.  Averaged a cylinder or a magazine.

1 5/8" Mini - Federal  836 fps,   CCI 791  fps.
3" Earl       -  Federal 1012 fps,  CCI 922  fps.   CCI Maxi-Mag 22WMR HP+V 30gr 1331 fps.
3" Ruger     - Federal  988 fps,   CCI 906  fps.
AR7            - Federal  1296 fps, CCI 1156 fps.

Kentuck, the AR7 is sort of the mini of rifles.  It is just so easy to have there when you need it.  Now, it does take a bit more doing than just pulling it out of your pocket.  In this case I included it for the 16" barrel.

Last FYI, my son is going back to Texas and taking his chronograph with him.  I bought a box of CCI Quiet-22", 40 gr LR.  Out of the 1 5/8" Mini they come out in the 550fps range.  They are very easy to shoot and as accurate as any .22s I've tried.  They do not have the power to cycle the AR7.  I will use them a lot for plinking and carry copper clad hollow & copper clad solids for my everyday carry.
