When were Black Widows first manufactured?

Anyone know when BWs were first manufactured?  I have an older model (had the cylinder pin replaced with the new one shortly after I got it), and I called customer service to find out when it was manufactured.  Mine was built in August of 1996.  I forgot to ask her when they started making them.

Does your BW have the squared off grips or the current more rounded ones? Maybe I need to ask about mine.

Mine have the squared off grips.  I actually prefer them to the new ones.  They just fit my hand well and conceal better.
