How do you mark the cylinders  to keep them with the right pistol?

A small electric engraver I use . Buy them at Harbor Freight or just about any hardware store . :)
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

front of cylinder probably marked with initials to denote rounds it will accept - i.e. - L R for Long Rifle...

Yes, sometimes the case, but not always.

A 22 mag will not fit in the LR cylinder and a LR will be sloppy in the mag cylinder

If I understand the question correctly he is asking about matching the cylinders to the specific pistol.
The simple answer is to store the cylinders with the pistol. I can't see any reason to have all of the cylinders lying around loose together.

Theysay, when we are having a shooting party here on the ranch, all guns are on the table for everyone to try.  Safety rules are strict but everyone tries what ever they want.  That could lead to mixing cylinders.  Everyone wants to try all the minis.

ok sorry
I have a small box for each of my mini's each box has the serial # of the gun that goes to that box, when I swap cylinders it just gets dropped in the proper box. Normally I don't take more then 1 cylinder for each gun to the range. That way no one other then me can swap out cylinders ;D

I use chair foot protectors.  Load your cylinder, slip the rubber foot protector over the back end and you are set to go the next time you need a reload.  I buy white for one gun and black for the other, or you can use a marker to show what ever other info you want on the bottom/side of the protector.  IMPORTANT - get the 7/8" diameter as it fits perfectly. The ribs on the inside of the protector provide just the right amount of friction to keep the cylinder from slipping out.

I went to Lowes but the protectors are in all the other stores, including Ace Hardware.  Have fun!
