Not sure what it is for or why anyone would buy one.  It is priced at about half of a real one.

WAIT!  A CA resident might buy one, as they cannot buy the real thing unless they move back the the USA from Pelosiland.

lol...I knew I could count on you Louie! Sure is an odd bird of a prop pistol. Also, the stamps on the box are obviously oriental. So it brings up the question..is this a true NAA sent over seas to be altered or ????

I have a fairly vivid imagination, and have been tested to be reasonably intelligent, but I can't come up with a goddamned hint as to why anybody would produce such a replica !?!?

   To what end ?!?!

No Eagle on the hammer, workmanship is crude. The stamping is larger and cruder.

I do not think that thing was made by NAA.

(Note: The colors below were added my me for emphasis.) The person selling it says it is a:

Replica North American Arms (NAA) Mini Derringer .22 Long Rifle Revolver model gun prop by Hudson. Similar to MGC, Marushin, Kokusai, CMC quality. Very hard to find. In original Japanese box, with brass (inert) shells and brochure. Cock the hammer and pull the trigger, load the fake cartridges. High quality plastic with metallic gray paint. Trigger, hammer, springs, screws are metal. Cylinder can be removed to load. Cartridges cannot be made to fire, they are solid brass and fit into the cylinder. I believe this to be a plug fire cap (PFC) version, but cannot guarantee that. I purchased this for stage use...

Normal business practice is to license trade names for any kind of reproduction. I'm sure if NAA is aware of these, and there is no license, they would at least have a legal right to block sales in the US. Whether or not it would be worth the legal expense is up to them.

Why would anyone make something like, you ask....

It DID sell, therefore they made it to sell.

   It works.
