Sidewinder Cased Set

I was at one of may flintknapping shows last week and the guy always makes beautiful boxes and sells them for $15.  Solid mahogany, changed a girly lock to a lockable one and I think I am ready for some sidewinders.  Could be tight or perfect see what the extra cylinder looks like. I think the inlay kind of look like a Sidewinder theme.

For $15.00, that's a mighty fine piece of craftsmanship! Even if only one sidewinder can be displayed with it's extra cylinder, next year you can "order?" a specific size from the gent perhaps?

   

   May have to hide the cranes to minimize the footprint if the box is deep enough. Just thinking out loud Steve. Love the box! Beautiful inlay and the Mahogany is gorgeous.

Now the flintknapoing shows are done, today would have been the last day at FlintRidge State Park near Newark Ohio.  The box came  from the New York Knappin last weekend.    I actually think I will be able to get two sets in this box.

OK look at the above pattern on the box and here is a real Sidewinder, home range is southwest US and Mexico.  Does the pattern on the its back match and does the pattern have a southwestern feel?  I am thinking so.

Two guns should fit, SW even a little shorter than the BT here and the extra cylinder and crane can fit on the sides.  All I need is some guns?

Beautiful case! I just love Flint Ridge, I haven't been there in quite a few years. Have thought about getting into flint knapping off and on for years. Some of my fondest memories as a child involved arrowhead hunting along the Ohio River banks. I guess working for a living just gets in the way!

Not for $15.00.  He does that only for the New York Knappin and they go fast.  They are easily $50 boxes, incrediblle quality.  I get two every year, he is a great guy.   Steve
