$100 a brick for LR seems a bit steep :-\

The fact that it's for short barrels makes it interesting though. I'd like to see some ballistic comparisons. It sounds like a job for Lucky Gunner.

So, they basically "invented" the .22 long-which is the 29 grain short bullet in a .22 LR casing.

From the tables for the Black Widow the Stingers & Yellow Jackets do just as well and with a bit heavier bullet.

I've watched a couple YouTube videos of people testing this 'punch' ammo...it looks impressive, but I think we will stick with velocitors in our mini...the reason simply is we have never been impressed with any federal .22 ammo...of course, haven't seen it on the shelf, either, and if as high priced as folks say it might have to stay on the shelf...

The 29 grain bullet is too short to stabilize in a long rifle. Rate of twist is wrong. I prefer heavy for caliber bullets even if they are slow. In a mini, the magnum is really the way to go. Stingers, velocitors, or mini mags are a good choice in long rifle. But  to each their own.

Just out of curiosity.
Can you shoot (of course when run out of ammo in all other calibers :) ) .22lr from naa .22mag cylinder?

Short answer- no. I've done it by accident. I don't recommend it. You can however shoot 22 WRF (Winchester rim fire) aka 22 special in a magnum cylinder. It is the predecessor to the 22MRF (magnum rim fire). The 22WRF may not fit in all chambers, but if it does, it is safe to use. It's power level is in between 22lr and 22mag. It's also kind of hard to find.

22 mag and 22 WRF have same size case, except WRF is shorter.

22LR case is smaller in diameter than those two, so it's a sloppy fit. Not safe for you or your gun.

As I said, I have no intention to use LR in Magnum.
I do have buckmark and marlin for that cal. ;)

P.S. Anyway, all responses to this question are appreciated :)

The 22 WRF is slightly larger case @ .242. The 22 mag is .239. Not much difference, but enough that it doesn't work in some rifles as they may have a tighter chamber. Usually will work fine in revolver cylinders as the chambers are generally looser than a rifle chamber. These measurements were from Gold Dots in 22 mag, and Winchester brand 22WRF.

Honestly, just yesterday, I found out that I have 2 boxes of "Personal Defence" Federal Punch in 9mm 124gr.
Interesting. Need to look at youtube for test results.

Just ordered 10 50round packs from TargetSportsUSA.  Should be arriving in the next few days.  I paid $9.19 a box.  I was really impressed with a gel test for that ammo.
