When I shoot the LCP I forgot how many rounds have gone and since the slide does not stay back after the last round I have had to fire one last time to ensure no rounds are still in the gun. Esentially dry firing I guess, I hope I haven't hurt anything in the gun.

Ok thanks, I have fired a glock my Dad owned. It was a really old 45auto. The polymer bowed out some the length of the slide, but it functioned perfectly. I remember cleaning it after firing it a few times before giving it back but I didn't pay attention to the internals. I prefer my cars to run like my guns...good. But we better not start the Ford-Chevy thing..lol

Thanks Greyelky. I always research the exact gun I plan on purchasing before I purchase since I only have a limited amount of knowledge on gun designs. I have never delt with a stiker fired weapon yet.

Thanks Bobt. Then the double action only would be safer to carry then I suppose. The Solo would have to have the saftey on when having a round in the chamber.

I think this was disscussed on another thread, I'll have to go look for it.

Dumb question...what does it mean by single action (Kimber website)for the Solo as compared to my DOA Ruger LCP.

   Thanks.

NAA Products / Looking at the Ruger 380
January-20-11 18:01
Same story for mt LCP. Zero failures, shoots ball and hollow points, very reliable. Gun feels cheap in the hand, and recoil is stiff. The last time around, last weekend, I only got off about 50 rounds, my hand started hurting a little. My groupings were poor beyond 7 yrds. (could be me)

DON'T get the Sig .380 (1911 style). The couple next to me couldn't fire it more than 2 to 3 rounds with out it jamming. They were very dissapointed.

My last words about the LCP...reliable!

My Dad recently bought a Jennings 22LR without researching it. I think he just liked the bright shiny finish. It only fires about every other round or so. So it just sits now.

Thats how I learned about Jennings.

I will hold onto to my 4 inch Earl until I can't shoot it anymore, but my Ruger LCP has not failed me, around 225 rounds, not much but it has flawlessly fired ball and hollow points.

I might take a closer look at the LC9.

I ended up picking up the LCP when I couldn't find any .380 Guardians close by.

NAA Products / Any derringer guys here?

Ok thanks Grayelky. I didn't think the penetration would be that great.

And I am very sorry to read about your cousin also. I don't understand the human brain's thinking when needlessly taking someones life. Terrible.

The Bond Arms definately have a "cool factor" to them.

Does anybody have any idea to what kind of penetration you would have on a BG using .410 buckshot load, like 00 or 000buck? Maybe in a household range, ten feet or so?

Seems to me that my 4" Earl with 22 mag would have better penetration, just wondering.

Lohman your post was a great food for thought! I didn't mean to minimalize it. The thoughts in my head didn't quite make it to the key board in my first response. I think I was mainly thinking to myself that since I loose things so easily I might be afraid not to be able to present it when asked, my wife is always having to remind me where I have set things! That document would definately make someone stand out in a goup of hostages...not what we would want.
#16
That is a good thought, something I never thought of. But it would be better next to the drivers license so it could be handed to authorities quickly when needed to be shown (rather than having to search for it). The hostage situation would be a rather rare event.

I agree with MDE. The criminals will ALWAYS have guns, no matter what, and will use them for their own advantage.

Thanks Zippo! I think it maybe the Hoppes I am using, I am sure its better than nothing.

I'm sure the Lucas oil is top notch but isn't the regular gun oil at Wal-mart in the sporting good section Ok to use on guns?
