Restore the categories "Politics And Religion", and "Off Topic". They were eliminated arbitrarily in January. NAA decided to keep the forum "product oriented". We lost more than a few active members.

Politics especially is informative, especially with a new Administration coming in, making changes that gun owners need to know.

With our pitiful post count, I can cover a month's worth of posts in 15 minutes. So I only log in once in a great while now. Just coincidental I was here to see your post. I've read and written a few posts in the last couple of days. Now I'll go back to  lurking. once a month or two.  Eventually I'll give up too.

Five replies!  I didn't expect that.

Quote from: RogueTS1 on November-22-24 08:11Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you as well, Bulls-eye.

Thanks. My holidays will be me and the dog at home. I may get deli turkey and ham for Thanksgiving and Christmas  sandwiches.

Quote from: top dog on November-22-24 10:11Bearcatter,
For a while there I thought that you:
1-were abducted by space aliens (again)
2-were in the slam (again)
3-moved to DC to live in the White House with Joe & Jill  (never happen)

Glad to see that you are back and doing well.

                                    Top Dog

1- The aliens (again?) didn't like my snoring
2- The slam (again?) , I tunneled my way out.
3- The Bidens are packing up a U-Haul. Melania is fixing up The Lincoln Bedroom for me  ;D

I'm not "back" yet. Thinking about it. "Doing well" depends on what you call "well". Three years since the wife passed, and it's still hard to cope. I only see actual people twice a month  doing groceries and other errands. I only drive about 20 miles a month.

Quote from: Uncle_Lee on November-23-24 06:11Dog gone, Bear, were you gone????

I see there are a few posts connected to the election. Know anything about those? I thought that was a Forum Felony?  Election  Day  was my 68th birthday, and let's just say the vote was a great present!

Quote from: dinooch on November-23-24 06:11Is it possible that the "Grand Poobah" of the Guardian returns?

You believe I haven't been to a range since June?  I bought my Guardians in 2018, they've had maybe 300 rounds apiece. You can get plenty of Guardian info with Search, even what I wrote. My SR22s were January, one range trip, about 50 rounds each. I hope I can do better next year.

Quote from: OV-1D on November-23-24 07:11Lets us all reflect back some time on why . ;)  ;) .

The "why" is why I'm not really back.

My last post was in May, and I've lurked a few times. I still see nothing has improved. I was very sorry to see that Ken Friel passed.

FWIW, my stable hasn't changed since I got my SR22s in January.  My signature list is unchanged.

I may visit again sometime for another peek. Just in case it's not until next year, or I'm dead, I'll wish

everyone a nice Thanksgiving and Christmas (is that allowed?) and a good New Year.

Same thing as before, nothing changed, just a different look.

A new coat of paint doesn't change what's under it. ...  :(

FWIW, the font is too small for some members.

Hmm. I can't even tell when I originally registered for the NAA board. There's no way to tell how long we've been here?

At least we seem to have retained our message counts. I look at the message counts from the profile page and each sub-forum has a count, but that doesn't equal my total count displayed. So apparently posts to missing sub-forums are still counted in our total.

EDIT: I guess from my "posts per day" of "4916 (1.158 per day)" that comes out to 4247 days, or 11.6 years. LOL

5-23-2024

Check you profile post history. Mine has date and time on the posts. I opened my very first post and now the profile page gives the date and time, 4-29-2018 at 12:04, instead of just Sunday. My first post shows same date at 13:04.

Based on my receipt, I bought my first Guardian through Davidson's 4-27-2018. I picked it up May 2.

I logged in just to see what new excuse was offered. There isn't one, no surprise there.

No more guests, lurkers, visitors, or potential NAA customers. How many is that,40-50 a day?

Lurking, I got info about Guardians that prompted me to join so I could ask questions. Without lurking I wouldn't have joined and wouldn't have bought the first one. I ended up with two. Plus lots of parts and accessories. How many other people bought Minis and Guardians after lurking the forum?

Last I knew, Sandy is still on NAA's board in some capacity. I wonder what his thoughts are. He said in 2022 that the move to employee owned was to protect the employees and make the company more stable. Was it in trouble? Or did he really just jump ship before it sank?

I'm glad I finished getting all of my NAA needs 4 years ago. Any future $$ depends on future actions and reviews.

Anybody notice the Spell Check button?   :D  :D  :P

I'll stay logged in a while today, to see if my previous post stays.

Just a quick post, I'm not 100% gone, yet. I'm still taking two minute peeks once in a while.

For me, it's not just the forum being largely ruined. I wonder if the new attitude will creep into NAA quality?

I'm very glad my Guardians, parts, etc, were made while Sandy, Matt Lewis (chief engineer) and Jessica were here.

My best wishes to all of the members.

Posts like nothing happened are sad. I still peek a couple of times a day, looking for the return of categories, but not for much longer. This forum is Code Blue. I have better things to do.

I don't own a mini. I have two good Guardians. Spare parts, 8 mags and too many holsters. Now that a .22LR Guardian is even more of an impossibility, why am I even here?

Now that I live alone, the discussions we just lost were welcome company. Sometimes funny, and sometimes spirited. We are grown ups and capable of solving our own disagreements. I am  sorry for the all the toes I ever stepped on. I've never intended to upset anybody.

I normally stay logged in here 24/7. I think I'll log out tonight. If I don't come back on, I wish all you guys the best.

I first joined the NAA board in 1998,

Did a little browsing. Didn't the forum used to show the date we joined? It doesn't anymore. Not by the avatars (I think that showed a date?) or in the profiles.

I think the forum just became Woke ?  .......  :(

well there goes everything in this forum that made it a special place. off topic gone, political gone, and no thread drift.

No religious. Now we're agnostic.

According to the cylinder pin poll, we apparently only have a dozen active members. Maybe what, 30 posts a week? It will cut that in half.

This is already the next to slowest forum I know of. Bullseye's GunTalk-Online has only had 4 posts in the past 12 months, but the owner keeps it running. I just looked and right now there are 16 lurkers, at least. It used to be busy and just gradually died.

I'm sad to report my otherwise "almost" flawless Guardian has started double feeding the last 2 live rounds even with what I thought were flawless Critical Defense rounds. Also started pulling magazines loose a few times. NAA has been very responsive I'm just trying to get to an FFL for the shipping. My local gun shop closed due to unfriendly gun environment Like Remington did moving after over 100 years . I'm glad I only carried it sparsely but loved it in a back pocket holster. Didn't even know it was there. I'm confident they will fix it I really like the gun but of course I have to be able to trust it at least 250 rounds without a bobble.

Oh, oh... sorry to hear that. Two possibilities - Are the Critical Defense basically HP, and you're using the pinky rest mag bottoms?

My two have 200-250 rounds each, flat mag bottoms and always 71 grain FMJ.

You know legally you don't need a FFL for a gun sent to maker for repair, or returned from maker to you. As I remember NAA just doesn't like doing that.

Back in 2019, I got an incorrectly machined slide on my second Guardian. A vendor had sent some bad blanks that got into production. It took several weeks for NAA to sort that out, weed out the bad blanks, and send a new gun. Jessica (CS) and Matt Lewis (Engineering Manager) kept me well posted on the progress. I had no complaint with NAA, and the new gun was perfect.

We've lost Jessica, does anyone know if Matt is still with NAA? Linkedin shows he is.

I don't even own a mini, I just visit for laughs, and the rare Guardian post. ...  ;)

Hey, I have a rare Guardian, maybe I should post!

They are scarce on the forum, maybe that's a good thing. No complaints, owners are happy, no suggestions except a .22 LR version. I've given up on that and bought my SR22s.

Some members post infrequent, probably don't know it was down. I don't even own a mini, I just visit for laughs, and the rare Guardian post. ...  ;)

I tried every which way to contact about the forum being down, their email even refused mine. I figured one of you guys had called CS by then.

I gave up and called a few hours ago. Nope, she said they didn't know.

We vote Option #2. While Option #1 may, and we say may, provide a little bit more traction; it does not look like it will make much of a difference and the lines just do not go with the rest of the revolver. Option #2 looks as if it will give plenty of traction while still accentuating the lines of the revolver.

Looks like you and I are the only "2" votes so far, and for the same reason.

If you click on it once, it gets bigger. Click twice, a lot bigger.

1 looks more functional, but 2 blends well with the surrounding design. I voted 2.

Like Top Dog I'm a 22 pistol addict!

What are the Berettas? They kind of look like a model 71, but maybe not.

The Model 71 Jaguar is newer. Those are Beretta Model 948, a .22 version of the .32 / .380 Model 1934. Beretta went commercial after the war, and the 948 was produced from 1948 (hence the model "948") into the mid 1960's, when it was replaced with the Jaguar.

Imported by J.L. Galef Co., sold under "Plinker" and "Featherweight" names. Alloy frame, 3.5 inch barrel standard, could be had with a second 6 inch barrel, easy to swap. Great 6 minute video -

Too hard posting that many pix, Copy and paste the urls, then bracket the urls, and rewriting them to resize. If I want two the same size I need a calculator to figure it out.

I wish this forum was better on that. Others I just copy and paste, then drag a corner to resize.

Mine are in my signature -

2 Bearcats
2 SR22s
1 SP101
1 S&W 15-22 rifle

Sounds like the magazine may be bad or need some sort of adjustment. These pistols are designed to stove pipe the last round fired as there is not ejector but if the pistol is double feeding or stove piping the second to the last round then something is off.

OP says it's doing it with all four magazines he has. So it's the gun itself, or the ammo. I've had two Guardian 32s for over two years, so I'm well aware of how they work. Mine only do the last round stovepipe maybe a fourth of the time. If I think to tilt the gun to the right it ejects okay.

Ejecting the next to last fired round and the unfired last together is weird. Seems they would jam up in the port and not go anywhere.

Don't think it's rimlock. The front round would drag the last one out behind it and probably wouldn't be able to chamber. I've never had rimlock, always using FMJ. There isn't enough room for it to happen. Hollowpoints are a little shorter and there is a slight chance of rimlock then if you don't load the mag with extra care.

If you're shooting HP, try FMJ. If that doesn't fix, I think you need to give NAA a call.

This range requires an appointment and it is for an hour. Makes sense as they are busy. They rarely have a spot open until the week after you call. My city is 100K people, the metro area is 250K, and we only have two ranges, both indoor. That's pitiful. We could easily support 2 or 3 more. The other one is run by a bunch of Rambo wannabees. I've been there once.

It's odd that my nine station outdoor range is usually half empty. Signs are posted that the longest time shooter should give up their spot after an hour if someone is waiting. I've never seen it happen. With the price of ammo few people stay that long, and I guess some just don't like the long drive. Shooting mostly 22 and having a boatload of it, I normally stay 2, 2 1/2 hours. With a 90 minute round trip, I want it worth the trouble! I do avoid the week or so before deer season opens, they can be a little busy, and I'm not wild about all the deer caliber noise.
#29
I wish I could just step out of the house and shoot. My outdoor range is free, Forest Service, but I have to drive 30 miles, mostly on a twisty state road up a mountain.

The indoor isn't too bad, my brother put me on a family sign up, I think added $100 to his membership. Not a deal for me, I don't go often enough.
#30
Best thing, with the scope verified as good, that meant my irons, green dot, and laser are good as well. They all co-witness to each other one way or another. With the one hour limit, it took four range trips spread over months to finally be sure of all of them.

Very happy that both new pistols only needed one adjustment. Now the next range trips will be all fun. Outdoor range especially, I can use my reactive targets and golf balls. Paper gets boring!
#31
On last trip with my .22 AR, I wasn't positive about my results with a wiggly rifle rest. Today I used a bipod. Today verified last trip was good after all. Four two inch groups at 25 yards using 2.5X scope.

My two new SR22s tested my idea that two of the same gun with sights that measure the same should shoot the same. Used a plastic Caldwell handgun rest. First groups, both guns had good elevation, one inch right. Turned both windage screws 1/2 turn to left. Then both guns shot centered, 2 inch groups at eight yards. Eight is farthest I can focus on a 1 1/2 inch bull. Tried six, no difference. Ten, groups grew. Freehanded some 3 1/2 inch groups at eight yards.

Fired a total of sixty rounds of old Federal AutoMatch, every round fed, fired, and ejected well.

I think it's safe to say the Sentinel was something of a dud to forum members. We aren't the final word, but there is a load of experience with all of the Minis here.If I ever bought one my choice would depend on info I got here, nowhere else. ..  :)
