I couldn't be in a better spot for packages. I live two miles from the UPS and Fed-Ex hubs; they're actually next door to each other. The main P.O. is about five miles, on the edge of downtown.

Never understood why, being close, UPS delivery is so late, usually around 4-5 PM. Fed-Ex and USPS are usually between noon and one, and I'm home from my split shift.

Late delivery is likely because you are so close that you are the last delivery on the return route. I use to load trucks for FedEx. They usually pick up packages at the end of the day and then make their final deliveries. We would load the trucks in the order of their delivery routes and their routes are carefully planned to be highly time efficient.

NAA Products / Re: Safe loads

This advisory is being extended to additional brands of ammunition which may be made under subcontract to PMC.  These include certain models of ARMSCOR & FIOCCHI products.  If the box identifies the contents as "Made in the Phillipines", we recommend against using the product in NAA mini-revolvers.

So a bit more investigation revealed that the cylinder is freezing due to rounds expanding which causes the end of the brass to rub against the frame. It may be an ammo issue but I noticed that the cylinder without rounds in it fit especially tight compared to the cylinder in my mini master. How tightly should the cylinder fit? On my mini master the cylinder drops into the frame whereas the cylinder for the mini mag needs to be pushed it.

When the hammer is hard or impossible to cock, my first thought is to check the bolt pin. It can fall out if the grips are removed: I had it happen to me. That is why it is the first thing I think of.

Here are a couple illustrations. Top photo is the bolt pin, second photo is a parts diagram. The bolt pin is #6.

Checked pin is in place. Thanks.

After looking a bit more at it. It looks like without the cylinder the pin is about a millimeter above the hole in the back of the frame.

JWL - does the hammer function properly without the cylinder in the gun? And does it function properly with the unloaded cylinder in the gun?

Another thought: is the trigger at half cock? I kept forgetting early on and it was hard to fit that way...

No it's not on half cock. This isn't my first NAA revolver. Problem seems to be with firing live rounds.

Yes functions normally without cylinder. Also worked with empty cartridges.

NAA Products / Problems with new Mini Mag
September-07-19 19:09
Finally got my brand new mini mag to the range today. Unfortunately it didn't go well at all. The pin for holding the cylinder in, is very hard to insert and takes a really long time to align and push thru. I figured that would break in after a few reloads but didn't get far. First shot went off pull the hammer back and felt kind of stiff. Second shot went off and then the cylinder would not move. Removed pin dropped out the cylinder, fired two shots same thing happened again. Tried once more and same results. I  gave up trying to shot it after 6 shots. Anyone know why this would happen? Anyone else have issues with stiff cylinder pins? I am thinking that this needs to go back for repair.

Only good thing was I also brought my mini master that one has been flawless and fun to shoot.

So I'm looking for feed back on fixed sights or adjustable on the mini master. Do adjustable come loose. Are fixed too far off. I favor the smaller in size look of the fixed ( if it's what I'm thinking)

I have the fixed sights, I heard that the adjustable can move while in your pocket and prefer the reliability of the fixed. I have shoot out to 25 yards and they seem accuracy enough at that range for me.

My hammer sits flush as others stated there is a bit of wiggle of the cylinder since the notch is slightly wider than the hammer.

So I have done a bit more shooting with the CCI copper  and now think that it was probably just my shooting and not the gun or ammo. After a bit more shooting the impact is higher now about where I was hitting with normal lead ammo.

I've used strontium aluminate (glow powder) on a few of my pistol's sights and really like it. I mix it with a catalyzed clear and dab a drop over the white dots. My Shield 9mm is one of the first pistols I did a few years ago, and it's held up real well. Never tested it to see how long it'll stay glowing, but have checked it after two or three hours after sun exposure just to find it still glowing bright. Here's a picture I just took of the sights after a one minute of florescent light exposure in my workshop. This is only about two-thirds as bright as they'll get.

That looks great. Its suprising how long that stuff glows. I was sceptical based on my memory of toy that glowed from my childhood which seemed to not last long. But this new stuff is great.

JWL79-
Welcome to the forum!

If you have a "black light", charge your glow in the dark paint with it. You will be surprised at how much brighter they are, and how much longer they will glow. The elements that make them glow are particularly susceptible to black light. Check on eBay and Amazon and you will find flashlights in the cheap range.

You are right uv flashlights work great on glow particles. I have a few uv lights we use when I play disc golf at night with my friends. I used a flashlight to charge them since that is likely what I would use when I carry.

Install CV grips G10 black & gray and painted sights with glow in the dark paint. The grips make the gun look awesome. I was sceptical of the glow paint but it works surprisingly well. I painted the back green and front in their original color which is basically white. The white color glows brighter than the green, so it's easier to make out the front.  Charged the paint for 20 sec and they were still glowing a hour later. Glows brighter than tritium for at least an hour.

Thanks, that makes sense. I wasn't taking the recoil effects into account. I was expecting it to behave like my pellet gun (pistol) light pellets high impact, heavy low impact. Looks like I will need more practice to be consistent with the lead free stuff. Only option in California is lead free stuff now.

NAA Products / Mini Master shooting low
August-01-19 23:08
New mini owner been shooting my mini master a lot and enjoying it. I put around 300 rounds in today with various CCI ammo. Pretty consistently hitting in the 6" center at 15 yards. However when I switched to CCI copper lead free ammo I was shooting 2-3" lower. Though it was weird, since it is lighter that lead ammo I was expecting it to hit higher. Shot a whole box of 50 with pretty much the same results. Any ideas why that particular ammo would shoot so low? I was hoping to use it for some rabbit hunting this weekend but now have my doubts. The CCI shots just fine from my rifle.
