I would think if you used enough compound to make the sear notch smooth , by the time you got that done that  the rest of the moving parts would be a sloppy fit. Just my thoughts.
I have done improved trigger pulls on guns with fine stones, and caution. Its worked every time.

Ruger
The only time it will get shot is if she has a kitchen invasion, so I am not kept very busy cleaning it. That is a good thing..

I agree heat from shooting can be a factor, but why then don't all brands  of ammo stick the same? Some brands stick, and some don't
Not the same thing, but have  a 317 Smith that locks up tight with Federal Match Target ammo, but runs great with regular  Federal ammo. Really don't matter anyway because my wife took it.

Its the carbon buildup from the powder, sometimes with some ammo happens on the first shot with some ammo.  With some ammo, it never happen's.  I shoot thousands of rounds through  Rugers, Smiths, minis, and any other revolvers I can get my hands on and it is caused by some ammo and not others. I am not saying there are  not some bad chambers out there, but after 378,000 rounds in the last 10 years, I know my ammo.... For instance I have some  Remington ammo that on the seconnd reload in my S&Ws I have to pound on the ejector rod with a chunk of wood. Some other ammo they almost fall out. I have had some good, but the next LOT may have different powder..

I think if you send it in for anything they will replace the cylinder, and you will not get the old cylinder back. Check before you do anything.

Did you take the cylinder back out and try it?

Royalecheez..
Welcome to the forum.  Does the gun function with no problems? Make sure that when you push the cylinder forward, it doesn't rub against the back of the barrel.

Those High Standards are discontinued , but they are not all gone. I ran a couple of hundred rounds through one today. Is a Supermatic Trophy.  Have several of that brand. All very accurate. Make me look good. One I have I used to shoot  Bulls eye target competition for about 10 years. Nothing heavy, just fun..
Only ammo I used was Remington Target Standard Velocity. Never saw a FIF.

Their 22 ammo bulk packs are 10 bucks higher than Federal, and the shelves  most places I have been are  their 22 ammo is not moving. Guess they don't know the 22 ammo shortage is long gone.

Depends where and what you are shooting at.  Today I was out in the country where there was some snow, shooting my Earl.  Had trouble seeing my front sight, painted it orange. That helped when shooting at dark targets. Went to black and that worked much better. Different days, sun, no sun, what ever works. In the summer shooting outside I like white, or orange. Some days when it is bright outside I like black. Never have liked red.  My Earl shoots to POA, but the factory front sight is hard to see most all the time. When I think about it black on that gun works best.  Just me...

I have been buying Federal 550 packs from Walmart for $19.95, plus tax. Federal got so far ahead  over a year ago that they laid off 160 people. Not sure why their  ammo has been held back.  There is Remington bulk packs at Walmart that are $10.00 higher just sitting there. Just over a year ago I walked into a gas station, hunting fishing, with  every thing  but guns, store, and they had just got in 250 cases of FEDERAL 22s. I think it has been the distributors holding 22 ammo back to keep the price up.
I talked to a guy in a farm store that said his brother was in a ware house in North Carolina back when there was no 22 ammo, and the building was packed to the ceiling with 22 ammo. THIS WAS WHEN THERE WAS NOT much for sale.
Worked for silver once, why not 22 ammo. Making a shortage last as long as they could?

I looked at one and wanted it, till I pulled the trigger once. End of that plan...

If the cylinder pin stays in, all is good.

I didn't post a picture, so maybe it didn't happen. All better now?

Went out today and put  about a hundred rounds through my Bearcat Shopkeeper. Shoots right to POA. Blew frozen chunks of cow &hit all over the place.

Wife just mentioned the other day how when I came home with a different gun, like from a gun show, it was in the back door and down to my work shop. They were made into a gun I liked.  Not so much any more. Still can, but the spark is gone. You would be amazed how much a mini can be shot with a good trigger pull  and a re-
crowned barrel.
Life is good, but a good trigger pull on a handgun, makes it better...

I think back in the day, if a handgun broke it was probably a spring. Long guns, firing pins and other things. A lot of long guns and some handguns were fixed with a good cleaning. Many of today's guns are beyond the farmers fix.

It's not so much what you shoot, its where you put them..
I opened up a 100 pack of cci ammo a while back, maybe first ever, and first shot was a FTF.

Here is a couple of 22s.  A S&W model 17 as in k-22. The other is a Ruger SP101 in 22 cal. Both have a lot of ammo through them, mostly double action. the Ruger seemed kind of hopeless when I bought it. Had a 15 1/2 pound trigger pull, double action, and a fiber optic front sight. Think Christmas tree bulb. Got the pull down to 9#, and painted the back of the front sight black. Not  a Smith, but is accurate, but hard on my trigger finger.
Ruger don't have a good sight for the Ruger. Must think everybody is going to shoot a fat targer at 10 feet, at dusk.
Earl holster has an eagle on it, but backwards...

My first mini was a 22 short.  We has an indoor range.  Standing, with a two handed hold I could keep the  shots in a 8 in.  circle. Will say I did much better with my High Standard Trophy.
As for this Paul Harrell, no eye protection?

Took the gun with the muzzle brake out today and ran a couple of hundred rounds through it. ACCURATE.  Think life in the fast lane...
Empty the gun at a cow pie at about 50 yards keeping chit in the air till ammo is gone. Life is great. Never gonna grow up...
Cow pie is frozen, so kind of chunky..
They say your mind is the second thing to go. Hope my trigger finger holds out to go last.

Looks like you had a good day
I don't have a warm range, and it was snowing. Drove out into the country with a couple of stainless Rugers, Mark11, and an sp101. Shot with the wind out the truck window, and shot mostly dirt clods sticking up out of the snow. No targets for show and tell, but it beat looking  out the window waiting for the snow to stop. Always wanted a back porch in the country to shoot from. Will never happen. Be happy with what I have.
My friend has a couple of Phoenix guns like your's. I have shot them.  Accurate.

Here is a couple of rare Mark 1 Rugers. What were , or became target models. One with a factory muzzle brake, and one with a 5 1/2 in barrel.
Have more with muzzle brakes, and one muzzle brake not on a gun.  Back in the day you could order a muzzle brake with the gun, but came in a package with the gun. Not factory installed on the gun, because  with the brake on it would not fit in the box, so i am told..

A guy showed me , a couple of weeks ago, where he was shot with a 25 acp. When the guy went to shoot him, he ducked  and moved right . Bullet hit him  upper edge of left shoulder top of his arm.  Bullet went in and skidded under the skin down to the middle of his back. Pain, yep, dead, no...Lucky he saw what was coming. Still here to do show and tell...

I have a Shopkeeper with a bit of yellow/orange on the front sight that shoots right to the point of aim.

I have 3 more brass grip frames, One on a 44 SBH, one on a Black powder , and one I put on a 44 SBH. that I think came off a black powder. Had soot inside.  Was a time you could buy them from Ruger.  Not sure but I think they were just over 20 bucks.
Remember years ago when people filled in the writing  on guns with gold paint? I was in a gun shop when the owner got a shipment  of  Rugers, and while  I watched  him open the boxes, out came a new Super Blackhawk, from Ruger, with gold lettering. I have one, but will never know if it's factory. Seeing is believing...
After I posted the picture  of the 357, I went out and ran 30 rounds of 38s through it. Made  my 22s feel like a cap gun..
Love the smell of BULLSEYE.

I have a couple of stainless steel 357 Blackhawks , early made before they stamped the warning on the barrel. Pretty rare, and were pretty much sought after. Don't know if that still holds true, or not. Shot one some, the other test fired..Boxes and paper work. An anti-gunner wouls say, I have to much clutter.
Clutter is nothing more than postponed decisions....

Here if it works out, 357 Blackhawk. Walked into a gun show about 5 yr  ago. On the first table, 300 bucks. Bought it quick. Test fired it a bit, and put it away. Times up.
