I'm not a forum cop.
I am an old mind.
I am guilty of forum jacking by answering an off topic question.

I just want to see a reach out to the original post offering to buy the BP guns or gun to help a doughnut hole victim!

If you know the shape and height of the front sight pin and have fashioned one you can epoxy it into the hole. Clean both parts with acetone or denatured alcohol (be sure there is no rust or tarnish) use 24 hour cure epoxy and allow it to cure fully. It is stronger than solder so don't worry.

Lots of thread jacking here! Someone please buy the two black powder revolvers in the original post!

The reference to "key chain gun"comes from a police magazine article as description  of size of .22 cal NAA guns.I found this described when doing a search.

Anybody have any idea just why Heritage has such a bad rap ? Myself I don't own any but it is American made I believe along with Ravens , Jennings , etc and I don't know why with those either except there relatively less costly . ??? ??? ???
Many brands have had bad raps in the beginnings. Some deserved and some just because they are new or in financial trouble thus cutting corners to survive. Jennings is now Jimenize and has improved greatly. Taurus was new and at that time was looked at as inferior. Taurus is not viewed that way today and by the way Heritage is now owned by Taurus ! Low price/value goal I their corporate philosophy so the Heritage bad rap will change in tiime.

I fired a friend's heritage with the adjustable sights and ally liked it. Their case harden look is  very nice the 'blued' frames are aluminum  alloy and look "painted" but their products function well and the prices are great. Many less than $200! All come with a coupon to get 22mag cylinder for $29.95 so it's best to buy base .22 LR.

For less then the asking price you can buy a new knockoff of a Hi Standard derringer.Found it DA38 double action  from American Derringer.

Check out the Heritage model with sights http://www.heritagemfg.com/product_detail.cfm?prod_id=6
Shot one owned by a friend and it's truly accurate. Very modestly priced. Prices from less then $200 ! Company owned by Taurus. Made in USA.

For birds beak models they are also there.

Is that a convertible model? Ruger catalogue does not have Bearcat with adjustable sights.
After more research I found that the Bearcat with sights is an
exclusive from Lipsey.

If the question is about the virtues of .380 - is fine with defensive ammo. Pocket carry is good with a pocket holster. I have a Taurus TCP 738 with  a homemade holster that also holds a second loaded mag.
I like this gun , good action, trigger and weight. Also price new $230 ! At gun show with 2 mags.

If the View is no longer available you can look at the S&W Airweight. A comfortable weight carry gun.

You can still buy sub $200 small semi automatics under the name Jimenez. Their quality has improved greatly and they offer a very good guarantee

The Colt pictured is a copy of a Browning known as a "Baby Browning" I think there was a licsense for Colt to make this. The only difference is in the disassembly step calling for one to have the barrel turned to the right(Browning) and the other turned to the left (Colt). In later years (1960's I think) after Browning stopped making the "Baby" others copied it with most going out of business. Colt stopped production after just a few years. The Browning was supplied to WWll underground agents.
It is a fun gun to shoot and very reliable with terrible sights but was used at very close range so sights didn't matter.
The Baby Browning in Good to excellent condition usually sells for $450 - $600 while the Colt is much less desired.

I shoot the RIA 1911 9mm tactical It is a fine pistol. Very tight, good trigger, smooth action. Only thing I would like to change is the front sight - want the optic like the model above mine.
I have several s/s mags and two 20 round mags (they do stick out of the butt  ;D).
Minor complaint is the billboard RIA marking but I can live with it for the price and quality !

This is the way to double tap. With your strong hand grasp the grip using all fingers. The weak hand thumb cocks the hammer and the index finger operates the trigger the remaining fingers of the weak hand over lap the fingers of the strong hand. This gives a good solid grip allowing good aiming and fast second or more shots.
