My supplier has started carrying this color leather (Chestnut). I liked it and bought a couple "Sides" to build some holsters with.

This is the first

Your thoughts are appreciated.

OLD and GRUMPY

Death before Decaf !!!!!

heyjoe

It's too bad that our friends cant be here with us today

OLD and GRUMPY

It will probably not show sweat and hand grime as much. Looks broken in around the mouth  already.

You know that saying (constructive type) might bring out the jokers?  We get bored easy.

I "mold in" a little turn out so the cylinder doesn't get hung up when holstering. Kind of like a "gun funnel" !!! lol!!!

Jokes are definitely OK! I just am not used to everyone being so nice on a forum!  :)

Old & Grumpy, thats not "hand grime" on old leather, it's "character & natural patina" lol!!! That makes it worth more!! Like an Antique! lol!!

Great Rick. I have been hoping for a color other than black.
You were going to email me some pics of your pancakes. Need a holster for a new Kimber Micro 9. Can send you a couple of mags if you are willing to make a double mag carrier.

My two favorite colors for holsters are black and cordovan. This chestnut is close to cordovan.  It looks great.

Biker black just isn't me but the browns have my vote . These waistband holsters are not good for my 40 waist and little as* , ha , ha .
Beautiful pieces though . Rick just a question and I know nothing about those sewing machines but are you able to run exterior stitches , like one in one out like those leather kits with the lacings as in wallets , moccasins and such , that would look awesome if it can be done somehow except by hand of course . You get my idea , I'm always thinking outside the box  ?
TO ARMS , TO ARMS the liberal socialists are coming . Load and prime your weapons . Don't shoot till you see their UN patches or the Obama bumper stickers , literally . And shoot any politician that says he wants to help you or us .

Brown has personality , looks much richer and warm looking not like the old basic black . Besides black holster with brown belt HOW GOUSH , ha ,ha . Fashion plays a big role doesn't it ? Be like a old guy wearing black knee shocks with red plaid shorts and yellow flip-flops , COME ON .

PM me your email address and I can get those photos sent. I have "dummy" Mags for 1911 so no trouble making mag carriers. I can do open top, or with snap over flap.

When I'm taking my Grand Daughter and her horses to a Barrel Race or a Team Roping with me I tell her I'm going to wear one of those Mustard Color Jump Suits with the little buckle in the middle and velcro sneakers like the old guys at the mall wear!
She straightens right up! "OK Grandpa, I'll load the horses".

I build SASS rigs for guys with that "unique" shape body you speak of  ::) Built in suspenders will hold a rig up!
That kind of stitching would be done by hand. = $$$$$$ Not much of a market for it at this time.

The Chestnut looks good with a yellow/gold color thread too! I finished a 1911 holster in that combo today.

I predict it will become your most popular color.  I have always liked leather that color the best.

That color of brown is the classic color. I prefer black for my concealed carry pieces because it makes them hide better to eyes of those around you but when it comes to an open carry or especially my Western rigs that brown you are presenting is the color. It is simply beautiful.

By the way; now that I know you make SASS rigs I know whom I will be contacting when I am ready to order my next custom Western rig. :)

A couple years ago Black was 80% of my concealed carry sales. Today it is 25%. Not sure why? I make a larger variety of holsters now. (IWB, SOB, etc)
Only 15% of the mini holsters are sold in black.

Like the color!  Are you available?
Hi, Welcome to the Forum! & thank you for the "up vote" on the color. It has become pretty popular quickly.
"Availability"? I'm flattered, but I am married. Unless your buying me a cup of coffee!   :o ;D 8)
Send me a PM here on the forum for prices and availability (for Holsters! lol!!)
I have a new website being finished that will have better photos and ordering capabilities. To order at this time you still have to contact me  :-\
